We will find out soon if the election results is the dawn of American fascism.

Kari Lake is trailing Ruben Gallego in the Arizona Senate race. If she loses she won't concede. She'll petition President Trump to overturn the results. It's an advantage for him to do so, he gains another ally and gets rid of a potential challenger to his re-election in 2028. He may even try to deport him, he's a sucker and loser who took part in W's dirty war in Iraq.

It shouldn't be this close.

Well, he was totally incompetent the first time and most of what he tried failed. He does have the SC stacked this time but he's also way more senile.

He already was president 4 years ago and there was no fascism.

Even if lockdowns were unnecessary, what would you do if you were leader?
You cannot do anything else except recommend a lockdown.
Are you serious. From the beginning they said the virus was only an issue for the elderly and very sick just like any virus. Ruining people's way of living taking away their freedoms and dishing out money is something no one with common sense would've done if they were leader. It was proven early on the lockdowns were pointless and did nothing to curb the spread.

I dont know if they said that.
I dont exactly remember.
But even if they did young people interact with the elderly.
So they can be carriers and transmitters.
There were countries without lockdowns like Sweden and they actually had a higher death rate.

So far the most cogent description of how it may play out...

The first six months will be a time of maximum peril. NATO must from this moment be considered effectively obsolete, without the American security guarantee that has always been its bedrock. We may see new incursions by Russia into Europe – the poor Ukrainians are probably done for, but now it is the Baltics and the Poles who must worry – before the Europeans have time to organize an alternative. China may also accelerate its Taiwanese ambitions.

At home, Mr. Trump will be moving swiftly to consolidate his power. Some of this will be institutional – the replacement of tens of thousands of career civil servants with Trumpian loyalists.

At some point someone – a company whose chief executive has displeased him, a media critic who has gotten under his skin – will find themselves the subject of unwanted attention from the Trump administration. It might not be so crude as a police arrest. It might just be a little regulatory matter, a tax audit, something like that. They will seek the protection of the courts, and find it is not there.

The judges are also Trump loyalists, perhaps, or too scared to confront him. Or they might issue a ruling, and find it has no effect – that the administration has called the basic bluff of liberal democracy: the idea that, in the crunch, people in power agree to be bound by the law, and by its instruments the courts, the same as everyone else. Then everyone will take their cue. Executives will line up to court him. Media organizations, the large ones anyway, will find reasons to be cheerful.

Of course, in reality things will start to fall apart fairly quickly. The huge across-the-board tariffs he imposes will tank the world economy. The massive deficits, fuelled by his ill-judged tax policies – he won’t replace the income tax, as he promised, but will fill it with holes – and monetized, at his direction, by the Federal Reserve, will ignite a new round of inflation.

Most of all, the insane project of deporting 12 million undocumented immigrants – finding them, rounding them up and detaining them in hundreds of internment camps around the country, probably for years, before doing so – will consume his administration. But by then it will be too late.

We should not count upon the majority of Americans coming to their senses in any event. They were not able to see Mr. Trump for what he was before: why should that change? Would they not, rather, be further coarsened by the experience of seeing their neighbours dragged off by the police, or the military, further steeled to the necessity of doing “tough things” to “restore order?

Sweden didn't have a higher death rate. it was all legacy media lies. More is coming out on this. I know plenty of old people got it and nothing happened to them. And they did say it from day one. It wasn't a threat.

Ron DeSantis and Florida did just fine without any draconian measures...

If she lose she lose and concede. Like Kamala did. Why should the potus intervene? Its not because you don’t like the opponent that he should be expelled. What’s wrong with you?

Right....
The real problem is the Dems / institutional left have sold out to the same elites as the Republicans.
They're an empty shell of what they were, people are sick of the lies and bullshit that keeps being pushed down their throats.
People will vote for anyone to say fuck you to the system.
Like domestic and foreign policy isn't already a disaster, trade wars and embargos and freezing international assets, wars in Europe and slaughter in the Middle East funded by the U.S.
led by a Democratic president and people go on about Trump....give me a break.
The political elites are completely disconnected from voters, Trump provides the optics of relatability, albeit a false one.
The more the media comes down on Trump supporters for being ignorant the faster you drive voters into Trumps arms.
Changing policy instead of fear mongering and incessant character assassination would go a lot farther.
Most people have become hip to the game.

Sigh, fascism and dictatorship are two different things.
Much like communism and a welfare state.
