but it is one group

we can have different opinions on how to get there but the goal should be the same for all

once you start dividing people along different lines

you create problems we have today
But it is not just opinions that are different.
Needs as well.
LGBTQ people, persons of colour, legal immigrants, illegal immigrants, religious people, white people, blacks, latinos all have different needs and challenges.
The issue happens when one or a few groups are prioritized over the rest or a few groups are demonized.
Which is the issue with both parties or sides.
As @Josephine said, acknowledging these differences while compromising and working together is necessary.

but that just divides people even more

we have to be unified not divided

there are just too many of us with individual needs

it's impossible to cater to each one of us

but as a united group of citizens, where ALL individual rights are protected

we can achieve many objectives

It's not like each group have a grocery list of particular needs that needs to be fullfilled. Being acknowledged, feeling safe, ect. It's kinda basic actually and should not cost to try to meet halfway.

unfortunately at this moment there are some groups with a very long "grocery list of needs"

and are being prioritized by current goverment over others

as long as someone identifies themselves as "I'm different and my needs are these" we will have this problem without an end

goverment role should be to take care of all it's citizens equally and not chose some groups as their "pet projects"

Stop being soangryyyyy!!! Not everyone's need can be met but treat them with hate won't arrange anything. The nuance is to not invalidate people like that. Put them in a climate of violence and segregation. It's like basic decency.

As I said nice pivot from economy to human rights.
For all intents and purposes China is objectively a success story. (And Bernie isn't even close to proposing a Chinese style government).
And "your oppression is worse than my oppression" isn't working for you.

WTF ??
You are a strange one
economic growth without democratic freedom and human right is not success
it is absolutely bewildering and concerning that you do not understand this

exactly how much material wealth do you required to give up your right to choose your leaders and freely express your opinions?
even worse is you would willingly subject your fellow citizens to the evils of communism to achieve what you describe inaccurately as success

odd how so many of the billionaires in China are party members and they are cracking down on many of the non-party billionaires
business is so much easier when you can persecute/ imprison / dispose of the domestic competition

And "your oppression is worse than my oppression" isn't working for you.
Are you so stunned that you think its a one for one comparison ?

The laws in the US all originate from the citizens via the vote and are designed to protect the citizens from criminals and from abuses of the laws
There are lots of checks and balances, the jury system, the right to have and choose a lawyer , Appels, parole, rehabilitation programs and most importantly the lawmakers answer to the electorate and the lawmakers are turned over.

The US has a large prison population because some citizens just can not abide by the laws
Criminals are found in every population.
This is sadly a part of human nature
plain and simple

China is ruled by a small select group of fabulously wealthy and powerful commies who retain power for life and are not accountable to the citizens.

it is just stunning how lefties can scream, shout and stamp their feet demanding equality on a Friday and then on Saturday claim an extremely unequal, repressive evil regime in China is a success
try the scream, shout and stamp your feet routine in China and see where that gets ya (I would advise you to hug your family members one last time before the protest)

if China has a smaller relative prison population its because they just disappear citizens who are criminals / opposition
Far more efficient, less overhead, fewer repeat offenders and not surprisingly less public resistance

The downside is it is evil and corrupt to the core

you need to stop sniffing the glue if you think China is a success story

I agree with unifying people.
But to unify people, you need to acknowledge the differences.
Then you can compromise.

just like to point out that

1. I am not angry at all ;)

2. the only person that mentioned "hate" is you ;)

3. the only person that mentioned "violence and segregation" is also you ;)

but in order to offer an olive branch to you

I suggest that we all see ourselves first as human beings and take care of one another first

if any goverment can't solve basic issues of homelessness or hunger for all it's citizens

then they have no right to bring up more complex issues of different individual groups

economic growth without democratic freedom and human right is not success
That people dont have freedom at all in China is a Western myth designed to malign the nation as it is an economic rival.
I agree there are human rights abuses committed by the Chinese government.
But western nations do it too.
Perhaps a bit less than China, but abuse is abuse.
Without freedoms there can be no economic success.
The Soviet Union is a good example of this.
They left behind economic ruin.
China is not in this category.
The fact there is economic success means there is freedom.
May be not the freedoms of expression we have, but their people are okay with it.
So for all intents and purposes, China is a resounding and emphatic success story.

treating all equally is not treating them with hatred
"equally" should be self explanatory

The only need for illegals is that they need to leave the country.
No.
Illegal immigrants who are criminals should be deported immediately.
The rest should be allowed to stay with a path to citizenship.
Cruel and inhumane treatment of people should be avoided.
Its just a piece of paper in the end.

Why?

Cruel and inhumane treatment of people should be avoided.
Illegals leaving the country is neither cruel or inhumane.

Its just a piece of paper in the end.
No, it's not. It's rights enforced by the government.

Because many of them have been there for decades.
Have jobs, businesses, families and are upstanding citizens.
So ripping them apart from their families and uprooting their lives, is cruel and inhumane.
I hope with this administration we won't come to witness such things happening.
Legality is less important than human rights.
Just give these people a path to citizenship while at the same time improving border security.
So going forward you want have to deal with such situations.

if anybody breaks the law then they should be charged accordingly

that's what being treated equally means

Earlier you said that criminals should be deported. Every illegal immigrant is a criminal.

Is it your opinion that I should be able to take up residence in any country on the planet illegally and be given a pathway to citizenship?

So ripping them apart from their families and uprooting their lives, is cruel and inhumane.
Families don't have to be ripped apart. They can all be deported together.

Just give these people a path to citizenship while at the same time improving border security.
So going forward you want have to deal with such situations.
There is room for compromise.

Are you saying that we give a pathway to all current illegals but from today forward, all new illegals should be deported?

How about anchor babies? What do you think about the rules surrounding them.
