Sure, you would rather trust a biased podcaster over a journalist. Yep, sure, ok. I guess you would listen to Rogan for medical advice over a doctor's advice.
Squeezer, you know where I stood during Covid, and have my latest shot booked for the end of the month. You need to apologize for this one.

I do know where you stood. I used to give you likes instead of :ROFLMAO: but as of late you seem to be dipping into the rabbit hole.

Exactly. Watching someone isn't monolithic. I enjoy when he has on science guys, comedians and a few others. Some authors as well. They are interesting and informative as gets them to explain concepts in layman's terms.

I disagreed with him on vaccination at the time and still do. But that takes nothing away from the numerous other Interviews in the thousands of hours that are not political. In some ways I watch those I disagree with because it tells you what they are thinking.

How many of his podcasts have you watched?

Again. Walk it back. You were wrong to say it.

You're not whining like others here about a Rogan-Trump podcast, but you're sowing doubts.
Sure.
I have doubts.

First, this makes total business sense for Rogan. He's no different than other news outlets. They all need audiences. The timing of a Rogan-Trump podcast in the final days of the campaign couldn't be better for Rogan.
It's made business sense for him to have Trump on from a ratings stand point for years and for years he has insisted that Trump has begged him to do it and he has refused.

So something changed.
That's either his political views or his business views (or business situation).

Or, of course, he was simply lying all this time.

Lastly, early indications is that Rogan's team were in talks with Harris' team. I don't think Rogan wants to appear partisan.
That's been his stated reasoning (among some others) for not having Trump on in the past.

We might never know how all this went down. Perhaps Rogan leaked that he was talking to Harris and that forced Trump's hand. Now that Trump is on board to do Rogan, maybe Harris will commit to a discussion with Rogan.
I thought it was Harris's team making public she wanted to do Rogan and was in talks with him.
And yes, it does seem to have forced Trump's hand.
Or, it forced Rogan's hand.

Like you said, we don't know.
We also don't seem to know if Harris is going to do it or not.
Mitch is spamming twitter reports that Harris won't do it.
That is odd insomuch as her team was the one publicly saying they wanted to.

But who knows?
Maybe she will be on.
Maybe she won't.
If not, it will be interesting to hear the reasons given by both sides.

Maybe Rogan has restrictions on his show Harris didn't like.
Maybe Harris has restrictions on interviews Rogan didn't like.
It could be as simple as a scheduling issue (we are in the last two weeks of an election).
Trump has been cancelling events right and left, so ditching an event he didn't want for one he did may have been easy, while Harris prefers to campaign in swing states.
We will have to see if anybody says anything.

But again, I don't see Rogan trying to promote Trump but rather create buzz for his show. That's the American way.
I see Rogan as completely willing to promote Trump to a degree.
He knows his audience.
They are pro-Trump.
So being pro-Trump, but not "too much" would create the right amount of buzz for his show.
Like I said, he has claimed for years that he wouldn't have Trump on despite Trump wanting it.

I am not walking it back because I was right to say it and you would be surprised how many Joe Podcasts I've watched. I don't mind him as much as you think but I do believe he's a meathead. A very rich and successful meathead who again, was poised to vote for RFK and has never voted for Trump to date. He hasn't officially endorsed Trump to this day so it will be interesting to see how the interview goes.

It would seem Harris can be on the Rogan show if she wants to be on the show. Of course, Rogan has restrictions. You have to be on for a significant amount of time. The conversation is very free-flowing. He might ask you about your childhood, ask you about pot smoking and then ask you to explain your immigration policies.

None of that means she doesn't want to do the Rogan show or answer his questions. I'm guessing however Rogan is kind of like my ball, my rules.

I don't know if Rogan's audience follows any sort of strict ideological pattern. I'm guessing they are very in favor of abortion rights and legalized marijuana (perhaps other mood-altering substances). After all, Sanders was on the show.

Rogan's core audience appears to me to be anti-establishment. Trump has seemed to create confusion over which party is considered the party of the "establishment". (I myself consider both parties the establishment with vested interests and big donors.)

Just looking at the business aspect, Spotify paid a shit load of money for the Rogan show. Several popular podcasts have drawn large audiences talking to Harris and Trump. Don't you think Spotify is saying "Joe, this is the fight of the century. Are you really going to pass on having them on your show?"

Its a bit late in the campaign for this to matter, isn't it?

This is my problem with people and their views on celebrities. I'm guessing you don't think negatively of someone like Jimmy Kimmel as long as he consistently attacks the people you don't like. Do Jimmy Kimmel, Stephen Colbert and Seth Meyers have to endorse Kamala Harris for us to know their preference?

I personally think Joe Rogan has an above-average intelligence and can keep a long conversation flowing in an interesting manner. I bet Rogan is probably surprised how podcasts have been thrust into the political spotlight this election.

Again, Rogan has had Bernie Sanders on his show.

Joe Rogan has succumbed to conspiracy theories and for this reason, I would never say he is above average in intelligence. Is he entertaining on his podcasts and a cool guy's guy to smoke a joint with or have a drink, yes, for sure. Heck, I think Trump would be a laugh around a table with a few beers and a diet coke for him but as President, he's a joke.

Actually, Maura Tierney who was his castmate on the TV show NewsRadio said Joe was always skeptical and discussing conspiracies. She went on to say that they incorporated this into his character.

So he hasn't really changed........perhaps you have changed. And your change is driven by your politics.

Now as I said above, I don't think he wanted to put his show into the middle of the political debate. I never saw that from him. However, podcasts have become a political forum and he would be foolish to stay out of the town square figuratively speaking.

So whattya gonna do, hate on every podcaster, talk show host you don't agree with? I might not like all of them, but I respect their ability to hold an audience's interest.

Why would I be able to answer this?
Thought you might know because you're such a big fan.

Again, how would I have an answer? However I did a search and found a reddit thread from 5 years ago where it came down to two things. One was copyright strikes on YouTube. And yes they can be a bitch about things, ask any content person.

2nd reason was other people would record clips live and put them up on their own channel, preventing some monetization from him. This way he takes the content, makes clips for advertising/short content money, and at the same time puts it up in its entirety.

But there hasn't been anyone on the show who has said he is editing/deleting content beyond that who has been on the show that I know of. Feel free to post of interviews where this happened.
That makes sense.
Release the final product and the clips for viral marketing all at the same time.
I had generally assumed he just dumped it live given his format.

Thanks for answering.

I expect you are right, and those rules may not jibe up with what Harris wants.
I don't know if anyone has ever expressed what his rules actually are if he does have them.
Trump famously had rules about interviews, so unless that's changed, nothing he demanded of Rogan was a problem.

I don't know if Rogan's audience follows any sort of strict ideological pattern. I'm guessing they are very in favor of abortion rights and legalized marijuana (perhaps other mood-altering substances). After all, Sanders was on the show.
I doubt it is a strict ideological pattern.
It will have leanings though. (It's also big enough that there will be trends and exceptions, not hard rules.)

Rogan's core audience appears to me to be anti-establishment. Trump has seemed to create confusion over which party is considered the party of the "establishment". (I myself consider both parties the establishment with vested interests and big donors.)
I would agree with his audience considering themselves anti-establishment.

I'm sure they are.
I am people have been telling him for ages to have Trump on for ratings.
He has been adamant about not doing it up until about a month ago, I think.

Anyone know when it supposed to air? Spotify is showing Sam Tripoli as today's guest.
If it is being recorded today, it should be out as early as tomorrow, according to the links about the process posted earlier.

Presumably they would want it to get a lot of coverage, so I suspect they release it before Monday so it can be all over the Monday news if there is anything they think will get buzz.
They might even want it Saturday so the Sunday news shows can talk about it.

Man, you really are a tad out of touch and blinded by your politics but no fear, Squeezie is here

and for the record, he is buddies with Alex Jones.

I do agree with you here, he didn't have any intentions of interviewing Trump, even when he was pushed by PBD. Yes I also watch PBD for the entertainment value and to hear the stupidity spouted off by Vinnie and Tom.

So whattya gonna do, hate on every podcaster, talk show host you don't agree with? I might not like all of them, but I respect their ability to hold an audience's interest.

I don't hate any of them, I find many entertaining to watch. I will however pass judgment on 1) whether they are full of shit and know better but the money is too good so they play up the schtick, 2) do they buy into the bullshit spouted by Maga therefore I relegate them to being dumbasses.

why do you think he switched from RFK to Trump in case? because Dems went after RFK too.
