Simple solution: Stop using food delivery apps and services. With the added service charges and mandatory tipping its a fucking ripoff anyway.

Not only this but the pricing is different on the same menu items. I’ve seen up to a 30% difference when comparing a restaurants own menu va their menu posted on Uber, DoorDash, Skip etc.

You left how, on top of the extra charges, the product is inferior since it's been so long since it's been cooked and then gets steamed and soggy in the containers/bags.

Pay more for shittier food. That makes perfect sense to me.

These food delivery apps only got popular because of Covid. They should be dismantled and people should go back to acquiring their own crap.
I think that over time, the popularity will die down. Or are there that many people that are so lazy (or so drunk)?

And, they charge the restaurant 40% of the total. They take a big chunk coming from each side of the equation. And tipping a percent of what the bill is? Give me a break. Does the driver do any more work if the pizza is $20 or $30.

I only get delivery from places that have their own dedicated drivers. Pizza, Chinese, Thai.

This has been happening since the 70's. I heard stories from guys who were in their 20's in the 70s' and did these jobs.

You don't think it happens at brick & mortar places?

GTA & Thereabouts...
I did Skip for chicken wings one time and swore I’d never do it again. I have kept that vow better than my own marriage vows.

I see food delivery guys deliver a bag of food to the customer's front door, take a picture of it and walk away. Never occurred to them to ring the door bell and hand the order off to the customer?

I use them when they give 50% off deals, it’s definitely worth it then. Also, I used it a few times at full price when I was sick and was craving Chinese, or when I was too lazy to cook.

It may not be an everyday thing, but it’s great to have the option in emergencies.

That would also help get a lot more food delivery on motor assisted bikes off the roads and bike paths. They also stop anywhere looking at their phones and blocking both motor and pedestrian traffic. They're blocking sidewalks parking their bikes.

The majority of bike lane use is the food delivery guys.
Good thing we are fucking up the flow of traffic for them to scrape dollars delivering soggy food to lazy fucks.

From my experiences, most of them are a danger and a menace.

They employ the standards and norms, ethos and habits of "whizzing, twirling, jetting, weaving, blasting thru, side-saddling, eyes and concentration on phones, strafing you" not of this city.
