Canadian comic Mike Bullard has passed. Apparently a heart attack. I used to enjoy his show on 1010 at noon. He certainly had some issues. RIP Mike.
Issues????? He harassed the shit out of his ex. Breached his bail and she and her daughter had to move out of her home for their safety.

That is not simply “issues”. That is totally fucked. Learn to handle a little rejection.

This is a death I don’t give two shits about it. Not that I wished him dead but certainly not sad about it.

I watched his show a few times. Not that great, but CANCON content I suppose. His singling out and trying to drag audience members into his act was annoying. I guess he died sad and broke.
I would like to watch his interview with Toller Cranston. That would have been funny.

I don't know about the sad part. The fallout of what he did to Cynthia Mulligan definitely killed his career (what was left of it anyways). And even as late as last year, Mike was unrepentant. He learned nothing.

Mike Bullard (comedian) - Wikipedia

Bullard launched a legal action for defamation in August 2018 against Chatelaine magazine, one of its writers, and its publisher, Rogers Media, asking for $6 million in damages after it published an interview with Cynthia Mulligan. The suit alleged the article incorrectly claimed that Bullard had been found guilty of "stalking / criminal harassment" and had resulted in Bullard being subjected "to ridicule, hatred, and contempt" and caused damage to his professional and personal reputations by implying that he is "unfit for employment and/or intimate relationships".[24]

On May 20, 2020, Bullard's lawsuit was dismissed by the court following a motion by the defence that the lawsuit violated Ontario's anti-SLAPP legislation. Ontario Superior Court Justice Michael McKelvey ruled: "What is clear in this case is that the damage to Mr. Bullard's career and reputation occurred well prior to and independent of the publication of the Chatelaine article. What is also clear is that the comments of his victim are views one could honestly hold based on the proven facts, and form part of a public dialogue on a matter of significant public interest."[25]

According to a 2023 Toronto Star profile, Bullard was unrepentant when talking about the case, speaking in a tense and stern tone "sometimes drifting into anger" with Bullard asserting he was treated unfairly by the media, public and the prosecutors. Bullard said the case affected his career causing him to slide from public view, though he still worked regularly as a stand-up comic at Yuk Yuk's.
[16]

As far as Mike was concerned, it was everyone else who was wrong. Not him.

I don't think Mike ever dated again after that. Probably had to resort to LL to get his rocks off as that was his only option left; provided that whomever it was that he booked was young enough to not know who he was.

I'm sure the audience was a mix of people like yourself who had no knowledge of his past; and others who did and either overlooked it or believed, as Mike did, that he got railroaded by the media and the justice system. How many people were in the room?

He pleaded guilty to harassment. LMAO.

I get a poor black man pleading guilty because he has no money to go to trial but Mike had the means to fight it. Instead he plead guilty, yet kept saying in public that he was innocent. You had the chance in court buddy but the evidence was just too much to fight so he plead out.

He plead out to one count of harassing communications and two counts of violating his bail conditions (that being to not communicate with Cynthia Mulligan).

He was initially charged with criminal harassment which was dropped, along with charges of obstructing justice (he tried to coerce Cynthia to recant and get the initial charges withdrawn) as the Judge ruled there was no reasonable prospect of conviction.

Mike's style rubbed some people the wrong way before this incident; afterwards he was persona non grata in the Media and Entertainment industry.

I think I read somewhere else that after Bell Media fired him from CFRB when he was charged, his Total Income for the following year was something like $3,000.

🥱man you’re boring.

Just stating facts, if facts piss you off that says more about you than me.

But hey - any chance you can get to come at me you do, so it is not surprising that you would stick up for a guy like him.

Have a good night FFA. Since I know how much your ego needs it, you can have the last word. 😂

Exactly. He plead guilty to harassment. And plead guilty to continuing to contact her after he was order by a court not to.

Criminal harassment and and harassing communication is still a form of harassment

Either way - he had means to fight it and he didn’t. If he didn’t have the means, then maybe he should have saved better. Either way - later Mikey. 👋🏻

Unless you are playing word games and taking criminal harassment and harassing communications to not equal a form of harassment.
No I'm not. You said "the evidence was too much to fight so he pled out."

I'm just saying that the initial criminal harassment charge was dropped as the Judge said the Crown couldn't reasonably convict him of that. So the case wasn't quite a slam dunk for the Crown. Otherwise, they never would have made a plea deal with him.

I should have quoted the person I was responding to to make it more clear. I was replying to the fact that he kept saying he did nothing wrong and tried to sue for defamation.

So maybe you should pop the pill. It is a discussion. That can mean more than one post Philly. I know you know that. It’s not a one post per thread rule here. 🙄

I edited my post but basically harassing communication and criminal harassment are a form of harassing someone. He may have got off on the one but he still plead out on the others. Including the breach of bail. He took no accountability up until his death yet he plead guilty. Don’t plead guilty if you’re innocent.

Anyways, it is sunset and pickerel are waiting to be caught. He is dead and I’m going fishing. 🎣
