Israel has been using UNIFIL as human shields in Lebanon but today went further and attacked them.
How about its just that Israel doesn't either care about civilians or differentiate between civilians and militants.
You can't look at this video and honestly declare they were attacking only Hamas.
Nor can you look at it and argue that Israel didn't do this on purpose.

1: It is accepted that things like hospitals becomes legit targets if you hide your forces among them. Why not human shields. I mean how can you defeat your terrorist enemies if they hide among civilians
2: Israel does what it can to give warnings of it's attacks to avoid civilian dead even at the risk of their own troops and the effectiveness of their operations. Hamas on the other hands tells their own people to ignore those warnings, obvious to ensure as many civilian dead as possible
3: The ratio of civilian dead to combatant dead is usually 9 to 1, The US in Iraq has gotten it down to under 2.5. Israel is doing even better.

Only if the military value obtained here exceeds the loss of civilian life. So yes both can be true as I mentioned in my post.

The purpose was to delay/derail an Israeli/Saudi peace deal that would have further entrenched Isreal in the region along with the other peace deals with Jordan, Egypt etc. It was a provocation orchestrated by Iran.
