DoFo is also using the 413 for his donors benefit, not for the people of Ontario.
The 413 highway was started by the Liberals. It wouldn't have gotten to this point without them. So can't fault DoFo on this one.

First of all, you can thank the Liberals for the out of control immigration and the huge number of foreign students for skyrocketing rents in this city. You know how supply and demand works, right? You can also thank their tax policies for making everything more expensive. Secondly, people earning minimum wage need to to be creative, live with roommates, as I had to when I was younger and unable to afford to live in a place by myself. And thirdly, $26, 208 is the average yearly rent. Do you know how averages work? Nobody said life was going to be easy. People need to be creative, even if it means moving to another part of the province, or country to find cheaper rent.

That's not why rents went up, that was killing rent control and then tipping the LTB towards corporate owners.
You do know that in the last 10 years 20% of rentals have been bought up by corporations?
Developers built micro condos instead of rentals, people wanted to buy them for investments. Then interest rates went up globally and killed that profit. So there is a lot of empty condos and business vacancy but not housing.
Rents are high everywhere, telling minimum wage workers they have to move to St Catherines and hang with an oracle doesn't help when there aren't jobs there.
But Ontario doesn't control the total number of foreign students coming into Canada. As is evident by this statement. My point was simply, the number of immigrants and foreign students arriving in Canada, where the vast majority settle in Ontario/Toronto, created a housing shortage, which resulted in skyrocketing rents. Supply and demand, for which you you can thank the Feds. Not to mention, all these people put a strain on our healthcare system. Canada is wonderful because we like to provide and help everyone in need. But when it's at the expense of people who have lived here for 50, 60, 70, 80+ years, that's just not right.
A couple of facts
Ontario does not extend a provincial healthcare plan for international students and instead, healthcare coverage for international students is provided through their post-secondary institutions. Generally, universities provide the University Health Insurance Plan (UHIP), while colleges may provide their own plans.
New to Canada? There are free health services available to you and your family from the City of Toronto no matter how long you have been in Canada: If you have been a resident of Ontario for three months, you are entitled to health care services paid for by the Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP).
The Federal government does not extend Ohip to immigrants.
Another fact, it was the Federal government who should be patted on the back for rolling back student visa's and not at the urging of the Provincial government yet, it's very popular these days to shit on Justin at every chance possible.

Who are you kidding? I know many doctors and nurses, many high up in their profession. Nobody gets denied healthcare in this province. To the point where people fly in from other countries, take a taxi (to St. Mike's for example) and get treatment for all kinds of serious health issues. Even though they're knowingly unable to pay, yet they can afford a flight here, they're looked after, with treatments sometimes costing upward of $100,000. This goes on regularly and I know this for a fact. I'm not saying deny these people treatment, but it pisses me off that people are coached/encouraged by families here to milk our system, when people have been here for years, are affected by this. Taking advantage of what Canada has to offer, miking the system if you will, on the backs of others, really rubs me (and many others) the wrong way.

International students go to the colleges, where ever they are.
Temporary Foreign workers go where they are hired and are stuck there.
Neither are usually Toronto.
