So Hamas never harmed so much as a hair on anyone's head.
The ICJ ruled Israel's occupation is illegal and must be ended.
The UN says Israel must end the occupation within a year.

Do you think Palestinians have the right to self defence?

The UN says Israel must end the occupation within a year.
So you're saying that you agree that:

    • Hamas-led armed groups committed numerous war crimes and crimes against humanity against civilians during the October 7 assault on southern Israel.
    • Palestinian fighters committed summary killings, hostage-taking and other war crimes, and the crimes against humanity of murder and wrongful imprisonment.
  • Governments with influence over the Palestinian armed groups should press for the urgent release of all civilian hostages.
(Jerusalem) – Hamas’ military wing – the Qassam Brigades – and at least four other Palestinian armed groups committed numerous war crimes and crimes against humanity against civilians during the October 7, 2023 assault on southern Israel, Human Rights Watch said in a report released today. Governments with influence over the armed groups should press for the urgent release of civilian hostages, an ongoing war crime, and for those responsible to be brought to justice.

Yes, Hamas committed some war crimes and should be sent to the ICC.

So by backing HRW you're saying that you agree that Israel is apartheid, the occupation is illegal, is aiding settler commit terrorism, the occupation is illegal and Israel is committing genocide.

Well done.

If you say so
Welcome to this thread, Bob. You seem like a reasonable fellow. This thread isn't about which side is more violent. They're both fucked.

This thread is about how one side coerces and manipulates the US into spending their blood and treasure in its service.

I'm curious about what you think of that. Why should US taxpayers be forced to bailout a foreign country?

If individual Americans want to donate all their wealth to Israel, fine. Why should the US government provide unlimited welfare to Israel? Wouldn't that money be better spent on their own citizens?

Don't have all the answers. Granted it may seem slanted. I suppose it boils down to who is contributing what. Why haven't Lebanon's and Palestine's oil rich Arab brothers tried to broker peace over the last 60 years? They are not powerless. The other side seems to be up to it's armpits in coercion and manipulation.
Anyway. US seems to specialize in "bailouts" or "bomb outs" of foreign countries. Vietnam. Central America. South America. Afghanistan. Iraq.
Sometimes they even help out. Europe. WW1 and WW2.

Hard to get behind Israel's actions lately, but somehow it was all sort of avoidable years ago if the two sides had reached a compromise which seemed to have been offered from time to time. Now it looks like it has gone past any point of recovery.

Israel has free universal health care, paid because the US gives them billions in aid.
The US gives Israel billions for bombs but won't spend that money on health care for Americans.
why?

That's more important to the US than healthcare for its own citizens?
Why?
Didn't really want to go this route, but Americans' biggest health problem is obesity.

Well, you went nazi pretty quick.

But what has that to do with the US spending cash on bombs for genocide instead of health care for americans?

Israel does favours for the US in the area, but you prefer calling it coercion. And no US blood has been spilt in this conflict, just Israeli. Oops I'm wrong. How many US hostages did Hamas kill, as well as the ones they killed on Oct.7? But AFAIK, no US soldiers have been killed by being in this war. Try to at least be accurate Lefty. You ain't no Sandy Koufax, arguably the best southpaw ever. Did you name yourself after him? Did you know that he refused to pitch in the World Series, even though it was his turn because it was Yom Kippur?

I'm curious about what you think of that. Why should US taxpayers be forced to bailout a foreign country?
They are not forced by anybody. The US always looks out for number 1 and by helping Israel they are helping themselves. It is the choice of the US government how to spend the money of the people whose own choice was to elect those very same officials. There is NO WAY AT ALL that tiny Israel can force the US to do anything that they don't want to do. The US holds all the cards. Israel is nothing more than another one of those cards.

If individual Americans want to donate all their wealth to Israel, fine. Why should the US government provide unlimited welfare to Israel? Wouldn't that money be better spent on their own citizens?
The US is spending money which they believe is for their own welfare which also means for the welfare of their own citizens.

It's always the same simple answer that a certain type of person doesn't like to accept. Allies being allies answers every single question about US-Israeli politics and why the US does what it does. The US needs Israel almost as much as Israel needs the US. Not quite, but it's enough that it behooves the US to watch out for their ally.

It's not a conspiracy theory/anti-Semitic trope like the Jews controlling everything with their money. Banks, Hollywood, and now the US gov't. The Jews bought everything. Not sure which is the older trope, the money or the long hooked noses. It is REALITY. Israel has been masterful over the decades to make themselves the US greatest ally outside of NATO. They've had no choice. They know that they're toast without the US and have been since 1948. Masterful positioning by Israel that no amount of money could ever match.

The anti-Semites should not only deal with it but maybe learn how to play the game instead of just shooting rockets. It hasn't been a successful tactic these last 76, and counting, years. You catch more bees with honey.

I've asked many times, but nobody can name a single country in the region that is or has been a better and more reliable ally for so many years to the US than Israel has.

Israel has killed two americans there for peace so far.
basketcase says 50% of Israeli Jews are foreigners.

The US could be paying for health care for Americans but instead they sent money for bombs to kill children in a country with free health care.

The US does not need to become complicit in genocide.
