3) Which former MLB MVP broke up 3 no-hitters in the 9th inning with 2 outs in his career? I only know of one player who did this, but please feel free to suggest others who did.

4) We could all probably guess Nolan Ryan was the oldest pitcher in modern MLB history to pitch a no-hitter, but who was the youngest?

4) I think it was Wilson Alvarez. He was 19 when he debuted with the Texas Rangers, and the Blue Jays scored 4 or 5 runs in the first inning, and he was pulled without retiring a batter. He was subsequently traded to the White Sox, and pitched a no-hitter in his first start for them.

3) My guess is...Kevin Mitchell.

4) Very close. Alvarez is the second youngest pitcher to throw a no-hitter in the modern MLB era.

3) I forgot to mention I only know of one player who did this. If you suggest someone that doesn't match my answer feel free to provide a source. As far as I know it was not Kevin Mitchell.

Ever the penny-pinchers, the Montreal Expos often traded players as soon as they were eligible for salary arbitration, or after their first arbitration-eligible season. Whom did the Los Angeles Dodgers receive from the 'Spos, in exchange for a just-turned 22 year old pitcher who had made three starts for them among 67 appearances, named Pedro Martinez?

Hint: The Expos player traded has a son who played Major League Baseball, and a daughter who currently plays Basketball in the WNBA.

Name the 1990's/ 2000's Major League Baseball pitcher, dubbed 'the most superstitious athlete of all time' by Men's Journal, who jumped over foul lines on his way to and from the mound, slammed the rosin bag to the ground before facing batters, ate black licorice constantly during games, and brushed his teeth between innings.

Answered correctly by unassuming.

In 1965 Sandy Koufax threw a perfect game. There were 7 things that happened in that game that had never happened before in a MLB game. Name some or all of them.

1. The only game in MLB history where both teams combined for one hit in 9 innings. Still a record.(correctly answered by onomatopoeia)
2. Koufax became the first pitcher to throw 4 no-hitters in a career.(correctly answered by onomatopoeia)
The rest of the answer:
3. The first perfect game thrown by a left hander.
4. The first perfect game thrown at night.
5. The first perfect game in which the pitcher struck out more than 13 batters. Koufax struck out 14(still tied for the most).
6. The first pitcher to throw a no-hitter in 4 consecutive seasons.
7. The first, and still only, pitcher to have struck out at least one batter in every inning of a perfect game.

Who am I?

I am a currently active Major League Baseball player, in my tenth season in the Big Leagues.

I am a two-time All-Star and two-time Gold Glove winner.

I have 444 career RBIs, but only four of them have come from Sacrifice Fly balls.

At one time, I held the American League record for fewest games needed to hit 100 Home Runs.

My career total of home runs is higher than my career batting average, (per 1,000 at bats).

Correct!

Gallo has 205 career HRs and a .194 career batting average, in 2840 at bats. His lifetime strikeout average, (.451), must be a Major League record for a player with 1,000+ at bats, and in 2023, he may have been the first player with 250+ at bats to strike out in more than 50% of his at bats, (142/282)
*.

It shouldn't come as a complete surprise that his current two year contract with the Washington Nationals pays him less than his 2023 contract with the Minnesota Twins: Minnesota: $11Million; Washington: $2.5 Million in 2024; $8 Million in 2025, with $2.5 Million buyout of mutual option).

Maybe he just needs a pair of glasses.

*.504; by contrast, Adam Dunn's worst season for strikeout average was .412, and Chris Davis' was .408. I didn't check anyone else.

Why not, it worked for Danny Jansen.
