I'm not sure what difference you're talking about. Are you saying that our dislike for right-wing policies are the equivalent to islamic or right-wing terror?
You said right-wingers hate gay and trans people (which is a gross generalization btw).
I am merely saying many on the Left have the same hate for right-wingers

I think you seem to think we hate right-wingers. No. We don't think their policies (for the most part) are good
I dont know about you personally, but many Lefties do hate anyone right-wing.
Which is fine, you dont have to like us, just dont whine if you get disliked back

I think the most dangerous thing in the word is left wing terrorism.

You can get arrested for anything that you say against immigrants or refugees in the UK (even social media posts)

You can get cancelled for misgendering if it is caught on camera

your kids can get taken away if you don’t agree with them transitioning in states like California

Black Lives Matter or some similar group looting stores and destroying cities

I can keep going. Losing your career or family or seeing your community destroyed is much worse than some bad words or getting beat up
What has that to do with terrorism?

“the unlawful use of violence or threats to intimidate or coerce a civilian population or government, with the goal of furthering political, social, or ideological objectives.”

These threats of destroying lives by cancellation or taking children away make the people reluctantly abide by the insane rules in order to keep their lives intact.
Misgendering is now terrorism?

Personally I think Islamic terrorism is a bigger threat. Bin Laden started a trend in the Islamic world with all these various jihad militias who have no qualms with beheading people and suicide bombing/martyring themselves.

Right wing extremism is overrated by the MSM.
Antifa is radical left wing, they burned Portland to the ground and the gov did nothing. Right wing protesters havent burned anything. Their just using their voices to express their displeasure with what's happening to their countries like mass immigration for example. That's a big one. But the MSM takes it out of context and says their extremist because they don't want mass immigration. Then the MSM says their racist for not being ok with it. When in reality they want vetted immigration like how it used to be.

Anyways, point is, personally, I just think the MSM takes it all out of context and are now calling regular old school conservatives, extremists.

I have yet to see anything they say or do, extremist.

Islamic extremism on the other hand, hasn't gone away since the bush era and in fact is sprawling out into different sub groups who choose violence over just voicing their opinions/displeasure like what the conservatives do, so I'd say their worse by a long shot.
I guess you missed Jan 6. I think you take MSM out of context, but you swallow all of Putin's 'elect Trump' propaganda with glee. I wonder why Putin is trying to elect Trump.... can you answer that one?

and you continue to be the left winger on everything except Israel, who's genocidal behaviour you fully support.
Actually, you are mostly correct. There may be other issues that I'm more right wing (trans athletes in sports) but for the most part I couldn't name them because I don't really pay attention to what left and right positions are. I've said it before many times and I'll say it again.

Just as no individual is always correct, there is no ideology or party line that is always correct. As such I am beholden to no party stripe or ism or ideology or wing. I will disagree with all them at some point or another. I look at each issue on an individual basis and base my personal opinion on the information I have at hand. To always take a left wing position or to always take a right wing position is just a robotic approach. It means a person is incapable of being an individual thinker. Their opinions are pre-programmed

I like to think that I can form my own opinion without having to simply tow the party line. I'd rather be an independent thinker. It sounds rather healthy to me.

BTW, Rwanda was genocide. Approx. 500,000-800,000 people were killed in 100 days. 20,000-40,000 people have died in Palestine in over 300 days. The rate of killing was approximately 100 fold more in Rwanda. Those people were targetted. What's happening in Gaza is mostly casualties of war. Israel has decreased military to allow 200,000 kids to get vaccinated in the last few days and I believe it will end out being over 500,000 when it's done. How does that comport with claims of genocide? It doesn't jive.

I appreciated your observation and replied civilly since it was not attacking or accusatory and you did not spew hateful lies.

Just based on my anecdotal observations, I'd say that right wing terrorism is more of an American issue and Islamic terrorism is more of a global issue.

You echo Israeli propaganda without ever checking if its true, you are as independent a thinker as any MAGA.
The latest numbers say Israel has killed at least 168,000 in a much smaller area than Rwanda with a much smaller population.
You've put zionists in the same genocide conversation as Rwanda and the nazis.
congrats

You drop 36kg of explosives for every man, woman and child in Gaza and don't think its genocide?

Look, I don't think all righties hate gays, minorities or trans people. There are conservatives who are these people, some all three. But, looking at the US and the policies the GOP are promoting, there is a general dislike for them having rights or living their lives. I will agree that there are people on the left who hate righties. I personally HATE the white nationalists and supremacists. As a white man, I think they are scum suckers who are dangerously misguided, hatefilled and uninformed. Does that make me a bad person? I think not.

I dont know about you personally, but many Lefties do hate anyone right-wing.

I think you might be confusing hatred of right-wing policies and hatred of the person. While that can overlap, I know a lot of conservatives (now, they are Ontario conservatives, not MAGA morons). I like them, work with them, play with them. I do not agree with all of their views or anything like that, but, then again, they are not extremists. I think the vast majority of people on here probably feel the same way about both sides. ON this board, it isn't personal. I don't know a thing about you, nor you of me. So, while the rhetoric we use on here is more in your face raw, it doesn't mean I love or hate anyone here.

The last thing I'll say is this: In the US, the right has being using the term Liberal as a slur for decades. They're also called Marxists, Commies or socialists by people who don't appear to know what those things actually are. Is there an equivalent for righties? Not really. Sure, some are called fascist (and some actually want to be fascist), but I think it is interesting that it was the right who started the name calling, but get all hurt when it gets thrown back at them.

You are a buffoon.

Neither the Lancet nor the authors of the study attributed any of the supposed 186,000 deaths to Israel. Not a one was Israel blamed for in the study. And you have reinforced that truth by not being able to provide a single quote from the Lancet or the study that says that. You keep pathetically repeating that lie and make yourself look like a fool.

500,000-800,00 were killed in 100 days in Rwanda. Is that Israeli propaganda?
6,000,000 Jews were killed in the Holocaust. That is documented history. Or do you claim it is Israeli propaganda?
40,000 have died in Gaza in 11 months, which includes about half being Hamas fighters.

And you have the unmitigated gall to compare Gaza to Rwanda and the Holocaust. The only thing you've proven is how your hate has warped your mind.

What an idiotic post, Shazi.
The Lancet letter refers directly to the ICJ charges of genocide which are against Israel. That is where the blame is clearly on Israel.

Israel has likely killed at least 168,000 according to that Lancet letter.

Even that number is likely low.

The Lancet medical journal recently published an estimate of deaths in Gaza from several respected scientists, who outline their process of estimation (comparison with similar conflicts) and final numbers. They estimate that about 186,000 total deaths could be attributable to the current conflict in Gaza, which is roughly 7.9% of its population, by mid-June 2024. This high number is despite various ceasefire agreements over the past six months. If deaths continue at this rate – about 23,000 a month – there would be an additional 149,500 deaths by the end of the year, some six and half months from the initial mid-June estimate. Using the method, the total deaths since the conflict began would be estimated at about 335,500 in total.

Similarly, I made a crude estimate last winter by looking at other conflict situations and assessing how many fatalities there would be if fighting continued without international intervention. In December 2023, my estimate was about half a million deaths without a ceasefire. This roughly aligns with the Lancet estimates – they used a very conservative estimate, but allowed that the number could easily be much higher. It also shows what could have happened had the international community not acted, and taken advantage of the brief windows available to deliver aid and medical care. Many have been saved by these various pauses in fighting and humanitarian interventions, even if patchily enforced.

Refers.

Unfortunately for you, neither the Lancet or the letter actually says or infers that Israel is responsible for any deaths.
