When we think of USA presidents in the last 100 years who were primarily businessmen...Hoover, Trump, the 2 Bush's..they all left the economy in tatters. (Although Bush I left a recession, his tax policy likely helped get out of it but Clinton got the majority of the credit). Eisenhower and Reagan and Nixon weren't, although Nixon had his own issues. The only D that came close was Carter, a peanut farmer.
But there is difference between being a business man and leading the country like a business.
Reagan ran the country totally like a business, but he was a comedian. His policy lead to great economic success but also lead to current inequalities and high poverty.
Trump says he a business man but he’s not at all. He’s a fraud. A grifter.
