I really am surprised that given the conversations we have here regarding BBBJ's, CIM, and FS that anyone on here will go up to someone in a grocery store or homesense and risk talking to a total stranger, which if we're being completely honest 99% of the time will lead to absolute nowhere, except what she is buying or where she is parked.

In addition, it will be looked on as weird given the nature of this city because people here are too standoffish.

Do random pick-ups at craft stores actually work though??? I know so many women who would actually be turned off by being approached while shopping. Maybe I hang with a different a crowd. I mean sure there are plenty of women there but other then some simple light chitchat, does anything actually come out of it?
Women are hit and miss. If they find you attractive it goes great, if they don't you are creepy. It really depends on the feels of the woman, which is on their whim at that moment dependent on the situation. For example I was at a laundry mat and was chit chatting with 2 ladies. I didn't find either of them attractive so I didn't shoot my shot. One of the woman dropped me her business card.

Like sex women need to be primed, by conversation. I'll talk to anyone as long as they pique my curiosity and can reciprocally carry a conversation. I guess having a conversation and maintaining a decent interaction that has mutual interest by both people would improve the odds of getting a number versus cold pick up. It's having the social awareness of knowing you are wasting time and energy and reading cues.

Cold pick up seems so unnatural.

This was why I suggested going out of town for a day. People in smaller town, in general, are more friendly and open for conversation.

It usually happens when you least expect it. I went to a 3 week job in a northern Ontario town 20 some years ago, wanted to leave immediately. Walked into the local bar and a beautiful girl was working there, I was smitten. Circumstances made nothing come of it but it was the last place I expected it.

Grocery stores, Michaels craft store, homesense, these places are crawling with chicks. Girls in bars are all dolled up and have their guards up thinking they're hotter than they actually are due to excessive make up. Try to catch one you fancy in the frozen food aisle and tell her to leave before she melts all the food.
A mate of mine tried it, so he nicked off there to the craft shop rather than join the rest of us at a sport pub. The next day when we communicated he said he had no luck, and in fact one of the ladies at the craft shop told him the ladies who were single and willing to mingle don't hang out there but instead go to the sport pubs to meet blokes. Lol

Toronto has historically been known to be conservative and uptight. I remember watching CP24, could have been 10 or 15 years ago and there was a group of people handing out free"Lighten Up" t-shirts. Can't find anything now on the net about them.

This summer I was having breakfast at Cara's with my son that is 24 years old.

A woman a couple of tables away, good looking 40 ish, with a few people on her table giving me the eye and smiles. I did not shave for a couple of days, I did not shower that Sunday... I am like WTF.

I told my kid about it and he though that she was in a commited relationship and it was a trill for her to flirt with guys while with her SO around.

In French we call them agasse pissette.

Some women think they are constantly being sexually assaulted — good reason to not hit on women at the actual gym haha

I am not going to agree or have a laugh at that.

High potential cringe factor with gyms. Same with work (though my longest relationships have all been through women met at work - I just got lucky).

Again, friends with the girl. Date her friends. Less work, more dates….and, you get a friend out of it.

I didn’t expect you to lmao, “men are rapists”. We’ve been down that road in a different thread already

I don’t remember you or any thread we have been involved in. Sorry. Certainly don’t remember debating that all men are rapists???? If you care to point that thread out to me, I can refresh my memory.

EDIT. Nevermind. I found it. Taken completely out of context of course in a thread where I said men and women have it no harder then other. Men have hardships and so do women, they are just different ones. I never said in that thread that all men or even most men are rapist. I said majority of rape that happens is from a man to a woman. Big difference in those two statements and one which is a fact that you are welcome to prove me wrong about if you can. I will happily admit to being wrong if you can prove that the majority of rape cases are not men sexually assaulting women.

Now how you got that twisted and brought that here is beyond me but that is not the topic of this thread, so if you want to discuss that, then you and I can go back to that original thread. I would have been happy to continue there with you but you decided to bow out and I left it alone out of respect. I won’t derail this thread with that stuff. Do you want the link to that thread to continue there?
