Five Canadians in the singles draw. Weird that all 5 played on Tuesday and none on Monday. Even more weird that the only one who advanced to the 2nd round is Gabriel Diallo, with Felix and Shapo both losing in straight sets (sigh…) and Leylah and Bianca losing tough matches in 3 sets. Doesn’t look like a Canadian will win a Grand Slam tournament in the near future.

I'm happy for Sofia Kenin, she's been through so much adversity.

Charles Barkley pissed me off when he said Canadians are soft. I have to grudgingly admit he's right, on paper Bianca should never lose to Jasmine.

I just watched the Diallo match and was thoroughly impressed. He's into the 3rd round after beating the 24th seed in 4 sets.

I'm gonna say right now that he will have a better career and ranking than either Felix or Shap achieved. He knows how to work points unlike Denis the headcase and seems to have ice in his veins unlike Felix the choke. He seems calm and composed. Even in the post game interview, he barely smiled. Very business like.

A big thing that he has going for him is his build. 6'8" and sinewy. He moves very well for a big man and with a big wing span and can cover a lot of the court and the net. He comes to the net at very opportune times during a point (didn't see a lot of serve and volley) and is a good volleyer when he did come in. As well, with his height he's hard to lob over. It also gives him a big advantage serving both in terms of speed and being able to come down steeper. As he gains experience and muscle he will be a force to be reckoned with.

Barring injury, he'll be AT LEAST top 5 within 2 years and unlike the aforementioned other 2, will maintain a lofty ranking.

He plays Tommy Paul next round. No predictions for that match because this is all very new for him. He could be the breakout star of this Open, but he'll have to beat Paul. If he does, everybody will be talking about him.

Or I could be totally wrong and he'll just be another bum from Canada.

To be one of 32 that are left in the draw is very impressive. Along with that comes a cheque for $215 grand, easily the biggest payday of his career.

VDZ is a good player but I'm shocked that Carlito bows out. Barbora Krejcikova, the Wimbledon Champion, also got knocked out. It's not that big a deal, she's never been a factor on hard court.

Sunscreen controversy notwithstanding, Sinner's GF, Anna Kalinskaya, is eye candy.

The Tuscan region of Massa is famous for it's marble, Michelangelo would make trips to the area to customize his orders. Also tennis players, Jasmine Paolini and Lorenzo Musetti are from there.

With Carlito ousted and Rybakina withdrawing, the US Open has lost some luster. The Clostebol Kid crushed his second round opponent in just over an hour. The Lovely One has beef with him. He broke the unwritten law, bros before hos.

Meanwhile Jannik and Anna have been shacking up on Sardinia's Emerald Coast.

Stunning ladies. Both wore short dresses with a lot of exposure ;)
The match was incredible. Went to a 3rd set tie breaker won by Badosa

Gabriel Diallo is a qualifier, he's already played five matches to get to the 3rd Round. He plays Tommy Paul next.

I watched Shapo vs Sinner at the Aviva Center three years ago, Shapo won. Felix should do more training and less fucking, he's become the David Lee Roth of tennis. Keeping it in his shorts he may not choke so shamefully.

Regardless of what happens the rest of the tournament, this is one of the best US Opens. Joker is out.

Go Gabe.
