But they were not too far off - she got 3m more votes which was within her lead based on polling. It was the distribution of votes and her arrogance that fucked her. Thus it was under 50k votes in a few states that did it for Trump.
Biden was up by 7 points but won by 4. He got 7m but just enough of a shift in the swing states to pull it out. He too roughly the same situation as trump - appx 50k votes in key states was the difference.

He called up 500 Guardsmen within 24 hours of the mayor's request. That would have seemed sufficient to anyone. He couldn't predict that the riots would continue.

When it did, he activated more Guardsmen within another day and the entire Guard within 2 days. That's not a screw up. That's competent.
