Sadly yes.

The same mayor who recently jacked up taxes and then afterwards came out bragging that there was a money surplus.
That's how fucked we are.
Toronto is one of the largest cities in North America with so many capable people to pick from a diverse population. How could you (not you directly) let this happen? Was the election rigged?

That’s the mayor of Toronto?? Lol you guys are fucked.
That article is clickbait for idiots.

74% increase sounds outrageous unless you look at the numbers and note that there were way fewer than usual killings in 2023 and that the number this year is actually the same, quite low number Toronto usually gets.

Police said that these statistics are consistent with previous years but show a large increase because 2023 was an “outlier” that had lower gun violence rates.

There were 24 shooting deaths at the same point in 2022, 17 in 2021 and 21 in 2020. In 2023, there were only nine shooting deaths at this point of the year.

Do you think there will be the same annual stats as previous years 5 months from now?
Or are you saying Chow hasn't made a difference and won't? (just like everything else)

I'm saying in a city of 3 million, 21 or 9 are still very low numbers for shooting deaths.
Not like in republican states under the rules you prefer.

Did you not see a badge was present?
The video showed a few people coming up to try to stop the attack, then two cops briefly flashing badges. The guy who approached starts backing up and another cop rushes from off video and pushes the guy into the ground, head hitting concrete.

Big lawsuits coming.
