The first is the largest unretouched photo of the injury I could find.

I then downloaded it and adjusted some contrast, saturation and lighting. I didn't manipulate the pixels or anything. You can clearly see a chunk missing from the tip of his ear.

Which is consistent with this bandage. I suspect he needed a stitch or some Steri-Strip adhesive surgical/wound closure.

Another thing I think we can be assume is that he is not on any anti-coagulants/blood thinners as the initial bleeding seems to have stopped with a few moments of pressure.

They are consistent witth blood running from his ear when he was lying or kneeling down. Like the pic taken of him when he was being covered by the SS agents and he was on his knees. The cleanish area without blood would correspond to where one would reflexively put their hand against a wound. Like his initial reaction and expresion of astonishment when the bullet first grazed him. You'll also notice the smearing of the blood in the crevices and folds of his right horn ear.

The pic taken immediately after the bullet went past shows his hand with a red blood streak consistent with the bullet path.

All of which makes it really weird that a week later his ear looked totally fine.
Ears don't heal that quickly, and definitely not on very unhealthy 80 year olds.

The same abundance of blood vessels that make head injuries bleed like a motherfucker also have them heal pretty quick. Add in an extremely vain rich guy who regularly wears heavy makeup and there's not much to see.
