I love how The Fan Pregame, and Shi Davidi, podcasts, and journalists, are now all talking about the beautiful chemistry between Teoscar Hernandez and Vladimir Guerrero. The bitterness and the regret of trading a central piece of our lineup for a goddamn relief pitcher. Like duh…… didn’t any of these people come to Terb to read what I’ve been saying since the day after the Hernandez trade? Lol. It took a 2024 home run derby for people to realize this? Lol

I am so sick and tired of people making this about team control and expiring contracts….. what about extending a happy in Toronto slugger?

Phil, you could have another gig as an "Insider". Maybe you could make some contacts via the agency for your info. Like when other teams come to town. GMs, players, agents etc. Lots of good info to be had. All off the record, of course.

I think I need to write a book. I’ll call it “The mistake of trading Teoscar. With the loss of power comes the loss of hope.”

Still my favourite rendition of a national anthem.
I'll give this guy credit, after this debacle he offered to make amends. So, they flew him up to Hamilton and he performed the Canadian anthem again, but this time he did it properly.

They should trade bo and vlad unless they can sign them to an extension as
I would assume they will be gone next year

We could get some real talent for them but with Atkins in charge to the end of 2026
things will not get better until a rebuild after Atkins is gone

Maybe in 2030 we will contend

That is a maybe so dont get your 2030 hopes up

You've already written it. Just compile your TERB posts. LOL

Or call it "The Teo Whisperer."
Lol. You are my private advisor ;) OK I will do that. That will be my author name alias. “The Teo Whisperer”

I think Guerrero has gone publicly to say he would like to stay in Toronto… so dealing him would be moronic. However we are talking about Ross Atkins after all.

There’s been a few doubters since the trading of Hernandez… Many people have challenged me with his shotty defence and strike outs. As everyone knows I am an extremely huge Teoscar Hernandez supporter. I really think everyone that questions the value of Hernandez needs to check out The Walk Off podcast on YouTube… there is a cohost there right now like I mentioned earlier by the name of Joel Leflamme…. This guy despises the Hernandez trade as much as I do. This guy believes we should have resigned him like I do. It feels so good to know that there is another lover of Teoscar like me and I am not alone in this world. Lol

The Jays have a nine game home stand immediately after the All Star Break, and prior to the trade deadline. I think attendance figures will play a large part in determining which moves they make. In the same way that Harold Ballard wasn't interested in improving the 80's Maple Leafs teams because the arena was still consistently sold out, Rogers seems to be more interested in generating revenue and making the stadium an 'inclusive' place than having a long term strategy focused on competing at the highest level.

This link from March 19 is oddly prophetic:

Blue Jays Baseball 101: What to know for the 2024 season

The key quote: "The Blue Jays’ main goal is to make it to the playoffs and win at least one playoff game.". If the entire roster had played to their full potential, with no serious injuries, they may well have achieved that modest goal by year's end.

I don't agree with Philip about a long extension for Vlad Guerrero. To me, he seems like someone who has so much natural talent that he's content to be good, without having to make the effort to try to be great. Individual accomplishments and his bank balance appear to be more important to him than team success. He should be in better physical condition, and he shouldn't still need an interpreter to speak on his behalf, but those aren't his priorities. Quite possibly he could be happy playing the rest of his career in Toronto, without so much as a sniff at the post season, if the Jays pay him what he thinks he's worth. He'll never be more valuable as a trade piece than he is right now.

Even in a down year for him, Vlady is posting more than respectable numbers. .290 BA, close to .850 OPS, on pace for 25HR (not good for him), on pace for close to 100RBI. very, very good defense. He's middle of the order on 29 other teams. Give him some protection and somebody who can get on in front of him. He's a keeper.

Bo, on the other hand, looks like he wants out. There is no spark there anymore.
