In my opinion that was not a penalty, it look like Kane kicked Dumfries.

But I must say England played a little better, I don't think Depay is great, Xavi is better. The Dutch have great defense though. I still think Spain is going to take it, although with this win the English are going to show stronger.

Just a warm up. The worst fans are always the Dutch and english. Italians will be racist but rarely violent. Croatians are often bad too.

the french. Spanish and germains are usually quite ok. Might be the fact they win often.
The Dutch appear to be especially vile little fucks!

OLLIE OLLIE OLLIE!!! Someone finally made a run and took a fucking shot!
Finally, indeed. You are spot on. With the talent on display both sides, it was annoying to see all the back and sideways passes.

BTW, Gareth Southgate replacing Harry Kane with Ollie Watkins is the call of the tournament.

I also agree that the penalty was harsh. Kane had already missed the target before he made contact. The game might have been quite different if Netherlands stayed 1-0 until the very end.
Anyway, I'm glad that England made it to the finals and it will probably be 3-1 to Spain in the Finals. This is although I prefer England to win.

I don't mind if England wins but I just think the Spanish are better. But you never know, there can be a upset.

Just to name one: Morata is not better than Kane. And for every Spanish Lamine Yamal or Nico Williams, there are English Bukayo Saka and Phil Foden. The Spanish are not superior man for man than the English. What seperates the two sides is the Spanish are courageous going forward, while the English are ponderous.

We saw the result when a courageous Cole Palmer unleashed Ollie Watkins to score the winning goal against the Netherlands. Ollie said he and Cole discussed the play before they went on the pitch. Make a run or dribble or lob a pass. That should be the winning English formula and they have the players to do it. Perhaps they will surprise us in the final and turn the tables on the Spanish.

Chairs thrown, beers fly in wild England-Netherlands fan fight that injured five before Euro semifinal

A local pub in Dortmund witnessed unparalleled calamity before Wednesday’s 2024 Euro semifinal between England and Netherlands with fans of the two teams getting into a wild fracas, video shows.

Chairs were being hurled, beer cans were soaring in the air and even a TV was vigorously thrown to the ground before fans started throwing punches.

According to UK police, five people sustained minor injuries after England fans got poached by Netherlands supporters, per the BBC.

The police reported that the Netherlands fans attempted to steal flags before spinning out of control.

Wednesday’s incident was a far cry from the playful banter that took place between Italian and Albanian supporters during the group stage last month in Dortmund.

An Albanian fan snapped a handful of spaghetti in front of Italian fans, one of whom dropped to their knees and jokingly begged the Albanian fan not to do it.

England won Wednesday’s game 2-1 after Ollie Watkins’ 90th-minute goal, and they’ll face Spain in Sunday’s Euro final.

The eagerness of the matchup caused some fans to spiral out of control just hours before kickoff. Police dubbed some of the Netherlands supporters a “risk,” the BBC reported.

England had an eventful run to the final.

I dunno. In this case I agree with you... however, yellows were being shown for "follow through with studs up" all the time. Kane got the shot away but the studs carried through. How many great tackles have you seen that we're followed by a yellow, because they "followed through" on the tackle. In this case a yellow = penalty and it's too important a game for that. The ref should have said "no" as it wasn't "malicious intent" and the shot was away.

I thought England deserved the win yesterday. They played with more innovation than previous matches. They likely will lose to Spain but I think its going to be a very close match. Perhaps extra time. I will be cheering for them.

Spain deserved it, I thought they were contenders from the first game. Bellingham while good I think he is blown out of proportion. They gave the honor of walking in the cup to Chiellini which was nice.

Gareth Southgate quits as England manager. Record:

1. 2018: World Cup semifinals
2. 2020: Euro 2020 final (played in 2021 due to Covid)
3. 2022: World Cup quarterfinals
4. 2024: Euro 2024 final

Always the same: just passed the ball around without much purpose.

Rarely in the history of sport has a manager achieved so little with so much talent. Shame

they simply forgot that football remains a game. You cannot win on talent alone. Yes each player has a role. The difference remains on a few that will get a lucky break. Spain let that happen just a tad more than any other team.

Southgate is a great coach. He just never realized players need have some fun out there.
