I'm sure there are more than a million Muslims in Canada. I'd say 1+ million in Ontario alone.
Why risk losing 30 times that in potential customers by not being honest about the source of your product?
It will be interesting to see the effect this has on KFC sales.
Because - unlike you - most potential customers of KFC don't obsessively hate Muslims and don't wish to boycott any retail outlet that accommodates their beliefs.

So it seems now that both Mary Brown's and Popeye's are Halal certified and been so for years. This is disappointing to say the least. I will no longer be eating at any of these establishments.
You shouldn't be eating at these places for your health NOT because it is Halal or not. When I go to the grocery store if the Halal chicken is on sale, that is what I buy and I'm not or ever been a Muslim.

So objecting to not being told I was eating Halal meat is somehow considered Muslim hate. GTFO. That's fine I choose to no longer patronize these establishments. And I hope that Chick-Fil-A capitalizes on this.

I rarely eat at these places but sometimes I like to indulge. If you want to eat Halal chicken that's your choice, I don't judge.

It is not that I want to eat it, it's that I don't care. The chicken tastes the same so it's no skin off my ass.

A Muslim man who’d been stranded on a desert island for weeks, starving, finally gets rescued by a passing ship.
Captain: Here eat something you poor man!
Muslim: Is it halal?
😂

How is Halal more humane and food safe?
In theory yes. However in practice there are stories that the machine type of it is a rather generous compromise that many Muslims don't see as proper.

I wouldn't feed Popeyes to a stay starving dog. I couldn't punish a dog like that.
Never heard of Mary Browns until I read this article.
Only thing I eat from KFC is the big crunch. It's delicious. Their fries suck.

Why would a Muslim go against the Koran like that?
He is explicitly allowed to not eat Halal if he is starving.

Of course you are judging. And indignantly so.

How is Halal more humane and food safe?
And you don't even know what constitutes "HalaL'. For all we know, Maple Lodge Farms is killing all their chickens humanely using the Halal method and is just paying for the certification.

Besides, you've already been poisoned by eating brown terrorist meat 😂 if you eat Popeyes, Mary Brown’s, Church’s Texas Chicken and Nando’s as they've all conspired to serve it for years! I suppose you won't eat a shawarma either?😂

What’s the difference between halal chicken and regular chicken?

The difference between halal chicken and non-halal chicken lies in the slaughtering and processing methods, according to CHFCA.

Halal chicken and all land animals must be slaughtered in compliance with the Islamic law. Animals must be slaughtered in the name of Allah by a Muslim who is of sound mind, according to CHFCA. The blood must be fully drained from the veins and the animal must be healthy at the time of slaughter.

By contrast, non-halal chicken and meat are not prepared in compliance with Islamic law, according to CHFCA. There is no specific attention paid to the cutting method or blood drainage process, and there is no religious requirement to avoid cross-contamination with haram substances during handling and processing.

Non-halal chicken may also include additives or ingredients that are not permissible in Islam, such as certain preservatives or flavourings derived from alcohol or pork.

Why is KFC Canada making the switch to halal-certified chicken?

In Ontario, where 6.7 per cent of the population identifies as Muslim, according to the 2021 Canadian census, the global fast-food chain aims to cater to Canada’s growing Muslim community.

Non-Muslims make up nearly 40 per cent of Canada’s market for halal foods, according to the Halal Monitoring Authority.

Many of KFC’s competitors, including Popeyes, Mary Brown’s, Church’s Texas Chicken and Nando’s, have provided halal options on their menus prior to last month’s announcement from KFC Canada’s corporate office.

Halal meat is considered by some to be healthier than other meat alternatives, because they are free of hormones, GMOs and other additives. However, some humanitarians have raised concerns about the method used in Islamic law for slaughtering animals, which entails the slitting of the animal’s throat while it is still conscious.

The certificates are posted in the restaurants.

And if it is not Islamophobia or whatever.. why are you going to boycott these Canadian restaurants like Nando's Mary Browns etc? And you want to foment more hatred by hoping the only notably Christian chicken junk food chain to "capitalize on this"?

It's just fried chicken bro, don't make it into a political thing like you accuse Muslims and Palestinian protesters doing.

It's this a thing. I don't think I've ever seen a item at KFC with bacon so then going halal is a non issue

Kirk, if you didn't dislike Muslims, why would you throw such a huge tantrum about KFC selling Halal products - and why would you consider "not being told" so outrageous?

LMAO, I guess gender issues are dying down so now it's time to jump up and down over something else. Righties are so funny.
I think you might actually be starting to learn about how things work, there's always something to distract.
Good job dude.

My grandparents were farmers. One day when I was there, I was 8 or 9 at the time, she told come to come with her to the chicken coop. Grandma grabbed a chicken took it out the coop and slit its throat. The chicken ran around for 30 seconds then down. The blood was drained then a dip in boiling water to remove the feathers then roasted the chicken in the oven for lunch. Chicken was served with a cream sauce, the cream was in the cow 3 days earlier with dill that was picked 30 minutes before lunch. It was so good memorably delicious. They ate well at the farm

I've eaten Halal meat many times as I have friends who are Muslim. So cut the crap.
I was not aware that Popeye's Canada was fully Halal and have been for a long time.
Why can't they have both options why are we eating Halal when less than 10% of our population is Muslim?

Really?
Look around the GTA.
It’s all about commerce.
Some Non muslims will eat halal.
I don’t think muslims will eat non halal.
A young lady, I over heard that is muslim I angrily telling her friend that she will no longer eat McDonalds grilled cheese bc it’s not halal.
