We know that prior to Sunak, there was a certain Liz Truss who wanted to implement some policies that meant higher tax cuts to the richest, and cuts in Public Healthcare, Infrastructure, meaning also lower wages for the Middle and Low Income Earners. More in line with Pee Pee. Even The Bank of England were critical of her policies:

Taking a surplus and plunging Canada into debt and a deficit was considered as doing great, especially as there were more jobs lost etc under him?
Canada was in a recession for a vast majority of years under Harper!!
I don't recall this Harpenning. And it's not like JT has brought us out of debt. He's only added to it 10 fold.

You didn't answer my question. I'll ask it again.

You can have one or the other. Your socialist utopia, or mass immigration. You can't have both. Which one do you choose?
Its a false dichotomy.

There is no socialist utopia nor mass immigration.
We are after social democracy, just a bit more socialism.
Immigration isn't such a big deal.

Is that so? Then why did Denmark, who you want to emulate, turn anti-immigration?

The leftists are in power, and they have low birth rates. What gives?
End state capitalism, sp.

Birth rates are low because you need two incomes just to earn enough for rent.
You can't raise a kid on one wage anymore.

You want higher birth rates, raise wages.

Yet birth rates are high in poorer countries.

You either believe all the BS from the rightie media or failed at mathematics in school.
Under Harper the Debt was over $600 Billion. So you are stating that the Federal debt is now over $6 Trillion?

The anti vaxxers?
Remember when the truckers protested in Ottawa and took over public space and you had a real issue with that?
Then remember how Hamas supporters protested in Toronto and took over public space and vandalized McGill university and you did not have an issue with that?

Bad news for the righties:

Of the G7 countries, Japan had the highest net debt in terms of share of gross domestic product (GDP) between 2010 and 2023. In 2023, Japan's government's net debt reached and estimated 156 percent of its total GDP. Italy had the second highest debt rate at 127 percent of its GDP, whereas Canada had the lowest at only 13 percent:

Why does Pee Pee not bring this up when he groans and moans in Parliament?

Stop calling Palestine protesters 'Hamas', you are trying to label them as terrorists and that's 45% of the country that now say Israel is committing genocide.

Palestine protests were legal and not a major inconvience, the anti vaxxers made life miserable for Ottawa, shut down key bridges and demanded the government resign. They were very different.

Vandalism is legal now?
Why was a court order required to remove the people encamped at UofT if what they were doing was legal?

No protesters that I saw here were denouncing Hamas and calling for the release of the hostages (alive & dead). Does that sound like people who are against terrorists?

You can stop peddling your twisted narrative anytime now.

The same way that you left out that all the States shut their economies during the Covid-19 Pandemic?
You're not even making sense. Harper only went into a deficit because of the financial meltdown, plus he worked his way out of the deficit.

Trudeau had no pandemic going into office and the pandemic is over. When will he balance the budget?

There was no vandalism, U of T was left clean, skoob.
Stop lying.

You support Israeli terrorism, skoob. Israeli settlers alone commit more terrorism.
You also support genocide, which is far worse than anything Hamas has ever done.

In the face of genocide the only moral act is to oppose it., skoob.

Lying? Now why would you think I'm lying?

McGill University...I'm not lying. Are you in denial or something?

Things took a violent turn at around 9:30 p.m. when the group arrived outside the James Administration building and some members began to smash the windows to the front of the building while others looked on and chanted "divest now."

Harper left an economy in the doldrums. Trudeau at least kick started the economy once again.
That so called wiping his way out of the deficit was all nonsense. All he did was to cut a number of essential services including those for the war veterans.
The various Provincial Economies were not shut down under Harper like they were during the Covid-19 Pandemic. The Federal Govt. in tandem with the Provinces had to finance the loss of jobs etc. Once again the help for Childcare, meant that more women could return to work. Dental care for Seniors on low incomes means that in the long run it will help to cut down on expenses towards the Healthcare once the oral and dental issues are addressed!!

Quick facts
  • The IMF’s annual Article IV missions assess a country’s economic and financial developments, including through discussions with government and central bank officials, and representatives of business, labour unions, and civil society.
  • Canada has the lowest net debt- and deficit-to-GDP ratios of all G7 countries.
  • Canada is one of only two G7 countries rated AAA by at least two of the three major global ratings agencies.
  • Canada’s labour market is solid, with 1.3 million more Canadians being employed today than before the pandemic, marking the fastest jobs recovery in the G7.
  • Canada’s economy is growing, with data from Statistics Canada showing that real GDP grew 1.7 per cent in the first quarter of 2024 (annualized).
