Actually Bill Medley solo, post-Spector, backed-up by The Blossoms with Darlene Love.

I read in a YouTube comment that Bill and Darlene had a personal thing going on for a while, but have found no verification...

What a voice Bill had. And Darlene with those sweet background vocals. So going on playlist.

This is Switch. Lead vocalist is Bobby DeBarge, the eldest of the DeBarge brothers. Keyboardist and backup vocalist is Philip Ingram, the younger brother of James Ingram. Jermaine Jackson wrote several songs for them too. This one was their biggest, reaching #6 on the R&B charts, and #36 on the Billboard Hot 100.
"There'll Never Be"

When I first heard this song this immediately came to mind.
Candyman "Playin' On Me"

S.O.S. = Sounds of Success. They lived up to that moniker.
"No Ones Gonna Love You"

Songwriters and producers Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis laced them with multiple hits.

This is my favorite Janet Jackson song post prime. Largely due to the "I'm in Love" sample

I played this tune to death in 1990/1991. My favorite club/dance track of all time. Timeless.

Two years before rap supergroup Wu-Tang Clan's epic debut LP, this is founding member and producer RZA aka Prince Rakeem. Definitely a different sound.
"Ooh We Love You Rakeem"

3rd Bass consisted of MC Serch, Prime Minister Pete Nice and DJ Richie Rich. Their debut LP The Cactus Album (1989) also featured the recording debut of rapper Zev Luv X, who later morphed into the artist called MF Doom, a popular figure in underground hip hop.
"Product of the Environment"

Zev Luv X was part of the duo KMD who's best known for this joint
"Peachfuzz"

Then later as MF Doom. I love the LP 'Operation Doomsday' his debut.
