A 33-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection to a hate-motivated attempted murder investigation after a woman was set on fire in a random attack at Kipling Station in Etobicoke on Friday.
According to police, there was an interaction between a man and a woman onboard a TTC bus at the station before 12:30 p.m. on Friday.
The man allegedly poured flammable liquid on the woman and then set that substance on fire.

Tenzin Norbu, 33, of Toronto is facing multiple charges, including attempted murder, assault with a weapon, common nuisance and mischief charges.
He is scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
The shocking incident is the latest in a string of brazen violence that has occurred at TTC stations in recent months, prompting concerns from riders and calls for officials to implement more safety measures.
Mayor John Tory says he is working closely with Toronto police and with the TTC in the wake of the incident to find ways to improve safety for riders.
The TTC tells CityNews they will be putting more constables in stations but did not offer a timeline as to when that would occur.
Officers say they believe this is an isolated incident and there’s no ongoing concern for the public.
Anyone with information about what happened is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
