Only the lonely

I am a caregiver

Work from home

I don’t have much of a social life.

How does one meet people for companionship? I’m in need of some people to talk to, just to shoot the shit, as a man. Don’t know how to go about things

Back to my whiskey.

Do you have a dog? Dog parks are a good spot to meet people.

Do you like sports such as running, biking, tennis, yoga? They often have clubs and that’s also a good place to meet people.

I would suggest the following:

- Join an exercise class, like Yoga, Spin, and go to the gym, so you are out and about.
- Do some volunteering like at a food bank, or at an animal shelter etc.,
- Use the meetup.com app, to meet a few people.
- Pick a small interest like photography or whatever, and go take some classes.
- If you feel depressed etc then reach out for some therapy etc.,
- Get a pet for companionship if your situation as a care giver allows it. Taking a dog out for a walk or playing with your cat and generally forming a bond with a pet, is amazing for mental health.
@Kautilya...its now official, you are the champ

Folks, ehmm...Micropenis if i may, is seeking companionship and other humans to vent and chill out, discuss nothing about nothing, not activities. The latter could be a byproduct of the former. I believe he (assumed) wants to see, hear and feel others...if not I stand corrected.

Same with me but I go to a St. LOUIS pub on yonge near Eglinton and soon I got to know people who go there weekly and most of them are professional seniors and we chat about everything including sports, and the best they have happy hour usually from 2 to 5 every day and before the deadline hour they request the server, PUT A COUPLE MORE ON MY BILL FOR ME. I have to drive so 3 drinks are my max. All locations have the same deals.

Thanks everyone for their replies and advice, I really appreciate it, also thankful for you guys not making fun of me in a vulnerable moment.
It's not everyday that a lonely self deprecating individual looks at the wide world of the internet and settles on an escort review board to look for sympathy. To quote Bogy .. "Of All The Gin Joints In All The Towns In All The World, She (he) Walks Into Mine" Of course it would make a little more sense if it was not the male member responses you are looking for but the female professionals sympathy that you are courting.

You have found yourself on a forum, it' not out of the house but you are free to obtain some friendly human interaction here so allow me to start by asking a few questions that your short conversation has opened up:

The Rwanda Gorilla Football Club patch on your name tag - are you from Rwanda ?

micro-penis - sarcasm or the belief that it is better to be underrated than overrated ?

'Do not cum…I’m gonna cum' - are you looking for a lover with a lot of patience or do you have difficulty in finishing what you started ?

Most of these great suggestions involve GETTING OUT OF THE HOUSE.

You need to get out and into whatever situation that encourages you to interact with other people and form relationships, even if just friendly though superficial at the beginning. That may lead you to develop more meaningful relationships going forward.

The meetup app is the best. You can find anything for any hobby. It helps with finding people with things in common.

I mean from puzzles to board games to kayaking to photography and everything in between. Amateurs to pros to again everything in between

I covered this in my advice column on another board. Here's a copy/paste from page 21 of Ask bobistheowl ! :

Q: OK, bob, this is the thing. I'm too old for clubbing, in any decent amount of light. I don't want to have to resort to the ice cream aisle. I'm tired of reading about other guys having sex. Where should I go, to find various types of civvie women that might find any of a number of us pathetic guys at least worthy of coffee? - Yu, Shanghai

Yu, a man's best friend in choosing, rather than being chosen, is lack of visible competition. Women are often interested in the best man who's there, rather than the best man who there is.

If you're looking for a standard '5', in any of a number of different shapes, sizes, and age groups, you could get tickets for one of those local women's talk shows, every station has a couple of them, The View, with different hostesses. You're going to be the only guy in the audience, so that automatically makes you the best looking guy there, if only for a little while, until other guys start doing it, too.

If you want sleezy in an attractive way, try to get tickets for one of those lowbrow talk shows, in the Jerry Springer vein, with the paternity suits, or the plot of a MILF smut clip. A lot of guys are already working that field, so wear a clean baseball cap, and tuck in the mullet, it's not the 90's, anymore.

If you're looking for someone a little more refined, try Sunday afternoon around 2:00 PM at the ROM, or the Natural History Museum closest to you. You'll find the younger single moms in the dinosaurs section, or near the mummies, or cave man dioramas. You'll know she's single, because if she weren't, she would be making sandwiches and bringing beers to the guys watching the game. If you just want a quick fling with a brainy single, go to the armour section, but be careful; the permafrown crowd congregates there, too. How to spot them is another lesson.

If you wanted to have a few drinks with some of the women who don't go to bars to drink with men they don't know, it might be a good investment to take a Learning Annex wine appreciation course, on a Friday. If you don't meet anyone you like, take it again; most people don't take that course twice, unless they want a clean slate.
