Federal unions file complaints over increase to office time | Radio-Canada.ca

These cunts have been off work since covid started. Phoning it in for 3 years. Try to get hold of the CRA and you get a voice mail saying you can expect a 2 hour wait time.
Even during the heights of tax season, sometimes it's two hours, sometimes I get through right away.

Now as if you will get the right answer, that has always been hit or miss.

Dealing with a dead person. As someone said a long time ago on terb when their parental unit died and they had to take care of things
"It is as if nobody has ever died before"

I mean fuck. One person who called me back as I had lost connection went on about different circumstances. I tried to point out that people owning stocks outside of a registered account isn't rare or unusual and my question would involve all such situations in the exact same way but she had her talking point and that was that, ears closed.
On the phone for an hour and a half trying to get a basic question answered, they couldn't and there was nothing on the website that helped [which is why I couldn't get an answer], Went to a accountant office downtown, nice lady answered all my questions right away, even refused my money because it wasn't worth setting up an account for. Minutes.
It's scary that the CRA call centers operate the same way as every other clown shoe call center out there and they rest of them are run by shaved monkeys. You would figure something as important as taxes would be run a bit better but nope. Take people who barely graduated high school and can't do anything else, tell them they don't have to know everything it's on the system, even when it's not, or if it is it's impossible for a reasonable person to find and let them lose. One test a while back said a third of the questions got the wrong answer, this before Covid. Not sure if these are third party call center people like Canada Post uses making minimum wage plus 50 cents or so, or if they are overpaid government people, but if the latter, they should be able to do their job a lot fucking better than they are.

I had to return a check to get reissued in the name of the estate. I did EVERYTHING they told me to do. I just got a form, many many months later [it wasn't a big check I forgot about it] that I apparently have to fill out. Never heard of this form before. The form even said apparently if I have the right documents showing I am the HNIC [I am] that I could just cash the check... if that is the case why the FUCK did they tell me to send the check back, why the FUCK did they send me this form instead of just sending me the fucking check back.
Same address as the decided, they have the probated will, death certificate, same address as the corpse, just send me the fucking check already. Fuck man.

Fuck em, get them back in the office. Work sucks, too bad, so sad you actually have to show up.
To bad for them they are not teachers who can literally hold children hostages for their own benefit.

The joke in Ottawa used be for the federal workers "I work 8-4, but home by 2" now it's "work 8-4, free from 1"

Also they spent billions on a new LRT that doesn't run and has no one to take to work. If government was a business it wouldn't last six months.

I know a scientist at Health Canada who said he could complete all his work in a half day, but had to share his work with 4 others. So they had 5 people working a one-person job.

Another wonderful idea from those brainless liberals, they impose a carbon tax to lower fossil fuel use then force to use more to drive to work where it takes energy to cool, heat and maintain. Idiots
That's the lamest excuse anyone could come up with to try and justify to stay home and work in their PJ's.

I don't understand why all the hostility towards remote work, it's more efficient, saves energy, and people are more productive and happier
It's pretty straight forward. People are NOT more productive, on average. Some people don't need supervision and can stick to their task, and may even be more productive working from home. However, most do need oversight. This is doubly true of government employees, who are accustomed to getting away with slacking off.

Yep. My cousin works in nuclear power. Not only does she get very generous pay and benefits, but she works maybe about 25% of the time. She's constantly emailing us during work hours because she's bored and that's the only outgoing communication she's allowed on the job.

All I'm seeing in that articile is that a "longtime flexible work evangelist and head of Team Anywhere at software firm Atlassian" reported that said company (which has a vested interest in at-home work being pushed) produced a survey that predicted low productivity will continue to be a challenge despite return-to-work mandates. I can't even find where it links to the survey data, which is highly unlikely to be unbiased anyway.

Did I miss a link or reference or something?

yip, Fed employees that don't want to follow the work requirements has two simple choices, Quit or get Fired. Im sure there is at least 10 people per position out there lined up wanting their cushy position.

The American government is planning to bring in legislation to mandate workers ( government and private ) to go back to work in office office. Working from home is causing the downtown areas of the big city to be empty and the excess unused office space is causing real estate to devalue resulting in the loss of tax revenue. If people insist on working from home they will no longer be considered employees and will be declared independent workers without company benefits of medical, dental and pensions.

An example of our govt. employees at work. Arielle Townsend's citizenship has been revoked. Her mother was approved for Canadian citizenship before Arielle was born 32 years ago but she didn't take the oath until after Arielle was born. She was told that Arielle was a Canadian citizen, but now. 32 years later IRRC says an error was made and Arielle's citizenship has been revoked. She must get a lawyer and pay $600.00 to apply for citizenship on discretionary grounds.
I didn't know there were govt. employees rooting around in 32 year old paperwork looking for mistakes. Doesn't seem like a good use of time when there is a backlog of immigration applications.
