You weren't like those people that walk along the tracks with their headphones on and the volume crancked?
That is usually done by people who want to catch the last train but don't want to face it. Such a selfish act as it really fucksup the train crews who have to witness it. Many have PTSD from the multiple times they have been force to witness and deal with the incidents.

Trains have always been something not to be screwed about with. I had a cousin and his friends playing and jumping between cars parked in a yard, years ago. He slipped on the jump and slammed face first into the roof of the next car, knocking out 6 teeth. I also had a young part- time guy on my work shift miss going out with 2 buddies partying. His dad told him, no way, you`re working tonight. The other 2 kids got smoked by a train at a crossing, while out driving around late that night.
Agree 100%! Trains are insanely dangerous and powerful. How powerful? I remember hearing about a lawsuit years ago against someone who got smoked by a train. Apparently, this dude had headphones on and was illegally crossing tracks at a station. Express train comes in and plows him. The force of contact was so severe that it literally dismembered him, and one of his limbs smashed into someone, who broke their leg. They sued the family over medical expenses because the dude was doing illegal shit at the time....Think about it. Dude is torn apart by the train, and his limbs had enough force to break someones bones 50 feet away...

Oh, found a story about it:

I honestly feel bad for the kid. He is a fucking idiot, but we all did stupid shit at that age (though, I didn't do anything THAT stupid). As for the picture of the Indian train....Do you guys know how many people die due to trains every year over there?

Source: https://www.statista.com/chart/30152/number-of-train-related-accidents-in-india/#:~:text=According to data from the,(12,181 out of 17,993).

That's is an insane number of people. That's like 45 people every day! Most from falling off the train.

Now, I've wondered why it's like that. Does the government not care? They have 1.4 billion people, so maybe they have so many they are a little less careful with life. I mean, their roads are apparently free-for-alls where you just honk and make whatever turn or lane change you desire....
Purely anecdotal reasons here:
1. You cannot smoke on trains but it is very normal for people to open the car doors and hang out beside it while they smoke. Also several Indian movies and many popular ones have the hero singing while hanging out the door and people tend to try it.

2. Many villages small towns do not have very well monitored raily crossing. I have seen people completely disregard the gates and try to take their motorbikes or bicycles through the gate because they don't see the train yet.

3. People are being stupid I guess.

Generally trains do not get this overcrowded. Especially because most cars are reserved seating and the train ticket checkers would kick you out or fine you if you don't have a proper ticket.

Indians and following rules is a constant struggle. People have the attitude of I know what I'm doing usually despite the rules being in place for their safety.
