Did they re-enact this scene?
HAHA. No, they didn't but I discovered that Sarah Lancashire, who plays Julia Child, also starred in the Brit crime series Happy Valley as Police Sergeant Catherine Cawood. That was one of the first (and best) series I've seen. Quite intense and I'm planning to re-visit it.

Just watched the first episode of the new season of Feud, on FX. Subtitled "Capote Vs. The Swans"

About Truman Capote, who used his close relationships with the wives of important New Yorkers and the secrets they divulged to him as a basis for an article published in Esquire. The article was entitled "La Cote Basque, 1965", being a favourite lunch and gossip spot they frequented.

Well acted, well written, and quite entertaining.

From the internet:

In 1965, Truman Capote, the celebrated author of works like In Cold Blood and Breakfast at Tiffany’s, found himself deeply entrenched in New York City’s elite social circles. These circles were dominated by a group of impeccably groomed and wealthy women known as the “Swans”. These ladies were not just beautiful; they were also cunning and intelligent, adept at capturing and maintaining men’s attention.
Capote was considered a trusted confidant by the Swans. They confided in him about their extramarital affairs, drug use, and petty quarrels. However, little did they know that Capote was secretly gathering all this information for his next novel, Answered Prayers.
In 1975, Esquire magazine published an 11,000-word essay by Capote titled “La Côte Basque, 1965”. In this scandalous piece, he laid bare the Swans’ deepest secrets. The revelations included a husband’s affair with the governor’s wife and a fatal accident that Capote reframed as a murder. The Swans recognized themselves as thinly veiled characters in Capote’s work, and the fallout was immense. Doors that were once open to him slammed shut, and the betrayal shook their world12.
“Feud: Capote vs. the Swans” dramatizes this stunning betrayal and its aftermath. Tom Hollander portrays the eponymous writer, capturing the tension and drama that unfolded when Capote’s inner circle discovered the truth.

Heard this was well made but factually inaccurate. Still worth a watch I'm sure...
It's a fictionalized account of her life. The characters were real people, as are some of the events, but that's about it. Sofía Vergara is excellent at portraying her. She should be seriously considered for an Emmy.

Yup, bumping this one. I was on a bit of Donald Glover kick after watching Community do I decided to check out Mr. and Mrs. Smith on Prime and it was pretty great.

I'm surprised that it was renewed for a second season given Prime's track record of canning shows. I'm still pissed they cancelled The Peripheral after renewing it.

Just to add to this, I've also just started watching The Office. I watched the first couple seasons when it first started but fell off with it, it was around the time they changed Michael Scott from an insensitive asshole to a well-meaning boss whose heart was in the right place but didn't always go about it the right way because it was around the time that Steve Carell was becoming a star and they were worried that playing a character like that would hurt his image.

I'd highly recommend the show "Fleabag."

Two seasons, 6 episodes each season, 25 minute episodes. It's a quick and easy binge.

Great humour, lots of sex-related comedy and jokes. The lady who wrote the series plays the main character and if you've watched Killing Eve, she was also credited for being one of the main writers for that as well.

IMDB Link.

I watched Fleabag and Killing Eve and recommend both!

Just to add to this, Brett Gelman, Murray on Stranger Things, is in Fleabag. He plays Fleabag's brother-in-law.

Has anyone here started watching the shogun? I saw ads all over during the Super Bowl. I don’t really wanna get a new subscription for just one show 😂

Shogun is great. The 4 episodes that are out are all quite captivating. The costumes, pace, settings and attention to detail (especially concerning Japanese culture) are top notch. I just wish they'd give us all the episodes instead of releasing them once a week!

Surprisingly good IMO. Locations, costumes along with the good acting/scipts makes it a keeper for me.

Reacher S2, not as good as S1 but still all right
Ted. Pretty good but some episodes are a bit mean
Blondie in an Ancient Time [Thai] about some social influencer chick who goes back 100 years in time, seen one episode seems good so fat.
Always on the Move [Mando] 1980's China, railroad staff, guy comes back to work from prison for being too rough on the job, mentors new guy. One episode in so far, seems promising. At least it's different.

Shogun is a remake of the original 1980's series by the same name.

I liked it back then and like the new version today. If you are a fan of history and different cultures then it is a must watch.
