Why couldn’t the Blue Jays do this type of deal for Cody Bellinger instead of signing Kevin Kiermaier for the one year? Is Atkins really that bad?

Yes. One of the worst GM's I' have seen.

A GM that should’ve been fired after the mess of pulling Jose Barrios. The manager, the general manager, the president…. They all covered for each other like a bunch of weasels. In my entire life of being a Blue Jays fan the organization has never looked so bad. I mean aside from when that manager was lying about his war stories… they have never looked so bad. It’s kind of tough for me to forget and move on and continue to cheer them on.

Is Joey Votto a Blue Jay? It looks official, bien tornato (welcome home) Joey Votto from Weston.

Does he still have pop in his bat?

Hopefully playing in his hometown will give him a psychological boost to play well.

There's been some lying going on somewhere (surprise, surprise).

They were (supposedly) in hot pursuit of Ohtani and/or Soto to really give the team the offensive bump they needed. But when they struck out it was "Oh, we really like the guys we have now. We can get it done internally." If that were actually the case why were they supposedly going so hard after the other two? The fact that they never really tried hard for Bellinger either, leads me to believe they never sincerely made any real attempts at the big names, and just running out the same team with a couple of tweaks was what they intended to do all along. Those pursuits of the big names was a sham the whole time simply for PR purposes.

Like Phil said, they are fraudsters just like Tim Johnson was with his Viet Nam stories. I've hated them from the beginning when they ran AA out of town right after he gave us the most exciting team we'd had in decades.

Usually when a guy Votto's age signs a minor league deal in the middle of spring training, he's paying alimony to several ex-wives.

That’s the guys name Tim Johnson lol. Apparently Pat Hentgan was the one that ratted him out. Like “ hey wait just a minute this fucking guy is lying he was NEVER in the war…”

Hahaha🤣

--no risk.
--gives the fans a hometown boy to cheer on while the ship sinks.
--his projected HR total for a full season last year would have been 35. That would look good on this team, especially batting behind Vladdy. Apparently, his shoulder problems have been resolved, which were attributed to his lower productivity.
--they could'nt get anyone better.

They don't care about winning they just care about building the franchise value. Just like Leafs management.

I have no faith in our manager, in our GM or in Guerrero Jr. Wouldn't shock me to see us finished last in the AL East.

Hentgen was always a standup guy. One Blue Jay who I consider one of our all-time greatest, both on and off the field. A true gentleman.

Him and his CY award season of 1996, set the table for The Rocket and his 1997 and 1998 masterful, brilliant, poetically powerful, perfect and absolutely beautiful campaigns….

I thought Mark Lemongello was?

The old refrain still applies, players don't want to play on turf. Ohtani was a non starter, he used the Jays to bait the Dodgers. Soto is a head case, winning the WC in his sophomore year went to his head.

If Gausman has an injury for any significant amount of time, season's over. We're wilcard at best.
