All you need to do is sing from the conspiracy song book and you too can have a popular YouTube channel. The grift is strong. What's the old saying, a fool and their money will soon be parted....I'm not saying there aren't Leftist shamsters or hucksters, but anecdotally I see more right-wing people falling for the most outlandish bullshit and believe it is fact. What makes them more susceptible to conspiracy theories?

Not everyone who drifts is just chasing the money.
Some have different ideological values and were never really left leaning so much as opposed to someone visibly right wing for other reasons.
Others just get emotionally rejected and lash out and are welcomed by the right and need the emotional validation.

There's another reason, of course. All originally far left causes have been "mainstream-ized" over time - except perhaps for Frankie's much-loved pet cause, Hamas murderers. But climate change, minority rights, gun control, LBGTQ rights and govt mandated medical care have all been taken up by the mainstream centre-left and I cannot think of any other new and interesting leftie causes that have emerged.
So if you want to whine about the government "ignoring what needs to be done", the ground is far more fertile on the right, where you can gripe about immigrants, Jews, gays, trans people, covid vaxx mandates, Taylor Swift, uppity Blacks and any other foible you can monetize. And what makes it even easier is that all the far right grifters recite the same script and interact with each other. So you can hang out with Brand, Greenwald, Musk, Bannon and Rogan (if you become rich and important) and scratch each other's corrupt backs.
Not only the optimum, but increasingly the only game in town for a posturing "outsider". And hence the parade to Rightie-Town on our social media.
That's absolutely one of the paths - if your whole schtick is that you are "a contrarian", you are going to have to spin yourself into more and more absurd positions over time.

I don't think anyone is objecting to the stable genius raising money for his campaign. That is very different from raising money to pay his legal fees and judgement for conduct which has fount to be illegal or civilly actionable.
