is Frankfooter still blithering on about Norway & how Canada's government should have developed our oil and gas rather than private enterpriseYes I do please explain. Maybe because Norway doesn't have an idiotic bureaucratic government like we do here in Canada.
this has been explained to him several times before i blocked him
the key points are
- Canada's government did try to drill for oil for serval years, but was unable to overcome the challenges of drilling in a harsh. cold environment
- Then Imperial oil (Exxon) was able to make it work at a place called Leduc, Alberta
- Oil & gas exploration in Canada requires large and ongoing cash flow infusions as every well depletes. This would have been a huge financial commitment. Govt chose universal health care instead.
- Oil & gas exploration in Canada is risky. Risks the govt should not take with taxpayers money.
- Norway is very close to oil markets. Northern Alberta is not.
- Norway was lucky their wells came in flowing,. During the initial exploration phase if they missed hole location by 20 km , it would have been a short lived money pit .
- there is no way in hell Norway would have been able to develop their resources under current Canadian environmental regulations
