The plows were just coming off the on-ramp and deploying across the width of the highway. The car was inattentive and couldn't slow in time. It was all situational. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

I've been stuck behind 1 low on a multi lane highway, however in that particular situation I felt better just taking it slow on a just cleared road than taking my chances on a buttton of uncleared snow so I just accepted it.

The driver should be facing more than a $300 fine in my opinion. He should be charged with Dangerous/Reckless Drivng.

The fine is anywhere from $150 to $1,000 for passing a working snowplow in Ontario. That guy will likely be charged with careless driving as well.
