She’s an escort, she must not have a present father or father figure.
I know a lot of service providers that have amazing relationships with their fathers me included.

She was probably se*ually abused as a teen*ger.
Being a victim of S A doesn’t mean you are going to become more sexually promiscuous or that you will turn to a career in the adult entertainment industry. However some of our peers have been victims of S A and that is why you should never ask a provider you meet. If she wants to talk about it, she’ll do it.

They’re all on dr*gs, there’s no way they can do this job sober.
I’ve actually met more sober colleagues than in my “day job”. Being sober or limiting your substance/alcohol use while on the job is a good idea for many reasons.

I know they don’t actually find their clients attractive
We are not insensitive to good looks, charisma and a nice attitude. Some of my clients were very intimidating on our first meeting because of how good looking I thought they were.

She’s going to be single for as long as she does this job
Many sex workers are partnered up, engaged and even married. I will not lie, it makes dating a bit more complicated but not impossible. It might not be a situation you’d put yourself in but some men/women don’t see an issue with it.

She charges X/hour, that means she must make YY per year
This one is probably one of our favourite, we call it “client maths”. For some reasons, they always seem to assume that we are fully booked every day and don’t take days off.

She for sure doesn’t pay taxes
While a lot of providers don’t, we are required to do so and some of us have registered businesses or numbers to do so. Costly but at least we are not tax evading.

Pronouns “she” and “her” are used in this post to make reading easier.
I am in complete support of your post but there should be also a post for common misconceptions about sex-receivers / sex-lovers / sex-warriors… i don’t even know what to call people like us…it’s like we are yet to get an identity in this society even after being such a large contributor to this economy and supporting so many families of such beautiful individuals and agencies.
more than the sex workers it’s the sex receivers who are not seen with good eyes in this society and often gets misjudged as love deprived, abuser, sick minded, non trustworthy in relationships, lusty, womaniser, horny and bad guys in every possible sense.
This is the most unorganised and unrecognised and un-unionised job creator who never asked for any funding from the government to run the show. It’s a selfless and charitable hearted unorganised organisation which runs not for profit in true sense yet they are looked down in this society. It’s time that we stand united and demand for our rights and recognition.

Well said bro!

Escort agencies are my charity and my church. Instead of giving money to fake charity organizations like Red Cross or United Ways, in which those corrupt fucks in charge would gladly squander our hard earned money on hookers and booze, I donate directly to Hush Companions, Mirage Entertainment etc etc myself, in the process creating jobs as well as stimulating the economy. I basically helped a lot of college girls with their tuition problem yet I get labelled a creep, and those politicians try to make us look like criminals. That is bullshit!

did you ever brag about this great work that you are doing for the nation building or try to take credit about it? most of us are so humble and down to earth that no one ever comes to know about these charities. you must have never even asked for the invoices for these donations. 🤣

That we spend our money irresponsibly.

That even if we do have partners, they are not good ones and they probably live off of us, or abuse us in someway.

That we do not like our jobs.

That we do this job because we do not have other options.

That this job is "easy" money.

Many of the stereotypes that people believe are due to a lack of respect for us or our jobs, so if anyone reading these has ever had these thoughts, it is probably a good time to examine your unconscious bias about sex work and escorts.
"That this job is 'easy" money." I think this is one of the biggest misconceptions of all. I would imagine SW is quite the opposite of easy! Mentally and physically.

I think the above 3 comments showcase one of the reasons. Clients thinking them paying us is charity and that they fund our life when most of them don't see the same girl regularly enough to make such a claim, and even if they did, she worked for that money, she funded her life by working, it was not charity, it was not done out of the kindness of his heart, he did it to bust a nut. The lack of respect for our work as work is truly exhausting. Like my guy, the maybe $200 that girl got from you seeing her at an agency doesn't even cover her nails and lashes for the month, much less tuition.

i tend to think that when I see a lot of tats, but I think that in Wal Mart as well.

You don't have to be a SW to have those sorts of problems

That we do not like our jobs.
Lots of people don't like their jobs - that's why it's called work

That we do this job because we do not have other options.
That this job is "easy" money.
One or the other, the reason MOST people have MOST jobs

Many of the stereotypes that people believe are due to a lack of respect for us or our jobs, so if anyone reading these has ever had these thoughts, it is probably a good time to examine your unconscious bias about sex work and escorts.
Is this because bluenoses seek to make SW dirty as well as illegal?

That is why I called this thread [escort edition]. Feel free to make a [client, suitor, lover edition]

I didn’t want to do it myself because it didn’t feel right.

Interesting thread. I didn't feel bad about the hobby before but it's nice to also have this context in the back of my mind on the future.

As someone who suffers from social anxiety I'd probably never ever have these experiences outside of the hobby.

I've approached hobbying similar to going to a restaurant. I'm never making better Italian food at home than at an Italian restaurant, but I don't expect the chef to personally care about it once I'm out the door.

The greatest revelation I've had in this industry was how normal/interesting my fave ladies are. We've all got a dent or two, but they don't strike me as any more or less than us regular folks. I feel my fave ladies do this as an act of autonomy, not an act of desperation.
True!

Oh man! I am so happy if the “hobby” has helped you in anyway. Social anxiety is tough and can make dating challenging but you’re a human with needs right.

Hopefully you have met warm, patient and fun SPs and will continue to meet many more.

Social anxiety is the worst, I also have it, though luckily therapy has helped with the negative self talk, so social situations are easier than they were at one point, but I still can get too chatty because I sometimes feel like I have to entertain people, so to speak, or they won't like me haha. I have a few clients who have anxiety as well and I always try to make them comfortable and carry even more of the weight of the social part of the interaction to try and get them out of their shell.

As for not caring, that we do not care about our clients is probably another one of the other big misconceptions. Obviously it is hard to care about someone you only met for an hour who also made no effort to talk to you, but I definitely have a few regulars I care about, especially the ones with different psychological disorders like anxiety and depression, if I do not hear from them for longer than usual I start to worry about them.

I definitely have. All the SPs I've met have been nothing but warm and nice to me. Yes without the pressure of dating I'm a lot more relaxed and comfortable in conversations.

Yeah. Anxiety sucks hard. Therapy and a whole lot of gritting my teeth and just putting myself in uncomfortable situations during my early 20s basically allowed me to get to the point where I can seem well adjusted and 'normal' to most people.

The real lack of respect is the way you describe the $200, which is a hard day’ work for the average guy, If you want everything handed to you on a silver platter, marry some rich guy, Or if $200 is nothing to you, try flipping burgers for a day. Lying on your back making a fortune yet you’re complaining about the lack of respect.

I did not say earning $200 was nothing to me, I said it is:

1. not charity, we work for it
2. it does not cover even the most basic expenses
3. it definitely does not cover tuition

I hope from here on out every provider does just that for you, you walk in, and she lies down on her back and does nothing else. And I hope that she did nothing previous to the appointment to get ready, because all we do is lay on our backs, so shouldn't have to get dressed up, do her makeup, put on lingerie, get her nails and a pedi, eyelashes, or maintain a skin care routine to meet the visual expectations of her clients. Since we just lay on our backs =) that's exactly what you deserve with this attitude.

If you think the job is so easy, you should start having sex for money with men as well, you just lay there and get rich :)

Most women who work for erotic spas and escort agencies are white women from small towns in my experience, trying to make more money than working in factory, retail or fast food which are the largest employers in small towns. The vast majority of erotic spas and escort agencies hire white women who apparently come from small towns.

That’s racism. I’ve tried many times to apply to massage parlours and escort agencies and they always refused because I’m black. They would literally tell me that it’s because I’m black

If a terb member, a “John”, “trick”, Client, starts a thread, common misconceptions etc, “John” Client edition, will there be backlash from the other side, double standards imposed, and the thread eventually deleted. Similarly to the now
Deleted threads, how to
Be a bad escort/client?
This place sure is getting divided, like the USA lmao. One side will always win and or be right, correct?

Really convenient to seemingly ignore the backlash from clients on to the "how to be a good client" list👌🏼 yes it's only one side, very good.
