You are saying that the Constitutional process and rules should be ignored.
How is that not about changing the electoral process?

Right.
So you just said that you think the process should be ignored.
Oh wait.
Is your argument that the process shouldn't be changed, just ignored if it inconveniences Trump?
One set of rules for him, and other rules for everyone else?

I would be very worried about "nefarious" tactics, but "these are the Constitutional rules, we should follow them" doesn't come across as nefarious to people who believe in the law and the ideals of the USA.
I do understand that you find them scary, though.
Yeah sure...seems like you've been brainwashed and can't for a second think outside the box. I can't help you with your denial, sorry.
You constitution has been hijacked by the left, you just can't or won't believe it.

Of course I'm afraid.
Most democracies fall via election.
Anyone on one of the two major party ballots has a chance to win the election, especially since you can win while losing the popular vote.
I have very little worry he will win the popular vote, but that isn't a guarantee he won't end up in office.
He can win despite the people deciding they don't want him. That's what happened the first time.

So yes, that enough of the country is willing to turn to authoritarianism and reject broad democracy for some kind of herrenvolk democracy to threaten all the rest of us worries and frightens me.
It would be foolish not to be afraid of such an outcome.
Most democracies let the people decide. You can't have it both ways.
You fear authoritarianism and the demise of democracy yet feel comforted in the fact that the ruling party is hindering someone's ability to run for election.

Not seeing the forest for the trees so to speak.

That people who support him aren't bothered by his stated desire to weaponize the justice system, rule as an authoritarian, and limit democracy does not make it true that the people who oppose him don't like those things. Is that the only reason people oppose him? Of course not. People have lots of reasons they do things.

But trust me, there is a strong thread of opposition based on the things Trump tried to do in his first administration and has campaigned on doing better in his second.
You have so easily bought into the left narrative of the usual doom & gloom tactics, I can't help you sorry. You seem like a smart person yet can't see through the smokescreen and almost-predictable tactics used by the left every time they fear losing an election.

How do you get to "the majority of Americans want him as their president" hmmmm. is it lunacy, delusion, or just a lie you are throwing at us so you can feel like a Trump Cult disciple?
I shared a poll with you earlier and there are many more if you just do a search. (unless your confirmation bias prevents you from doing that)
If you just want to ignore it that's fine, but don't accuse people of being delusional and throwing lies.

Hey Skoob, since most Americans want him as Prez as you say why are the maga twats being thrown out of establishments and in FUCKING FLORIDA, dude, wtf is going on man???

Because that's what leftists do...they censor, demonize, cancel, and decide who's opinion matters. Or they decide when the conversation ends and promptly stomp out of the room.
You know that right?

Is that why Joe Biden won the 2020 election with over 1000000 votes, is that why in 2022 the Repugs didn't regain the Senate and barely won the house. In other words no big red wave, right??? Face it, once it is official Trump is the opposition , he will never win a general election, you heard it here.

So you don't believe a business has the right to how they want their public image viewed, how they want their brand viewed? What kind of Conservative are you who wants to dictate to business on how they should run their business??

With a fast timetable (for SCOTUS) and just a general "Did Colorado err".

Makes me think they are going to dismiss it on a technicality that lets them dodge any real grappling with the 14th amendment.

My first guess would be the "the 14th can't apply to a primary ballot". Doesn't really resolve anything, but stalls the question and then they can plead "it's all too late" when it comes back in the general.
They could also go with "there was insufficient process" and refuse to actually say what the proper process would be, hoping the lack of clarity acts as a chilling effect on other cases.

Maybe we will get lucky and they will issue some substantial decision, but I doubt it.

You constitution has been hijacked by the left, you just can't or won't believe it.
How has it been hijacked?
Applying it to Trump and providing him every legal recourse to challenge it and hopefully have the country come to a consensus about the proper application is "hijacked"?
This really is just " There must be in-groups whom the law protects but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect," for you, isn't it?

Absolutely, no democracy can survive a people who are determined to let democracy fall.
Of course, that's rarely what people think they are getting.

You fear authoritarianism and the demise of democracy yet feel comforted in the fact that the ruling party is hindering someone's ability to run for election.
Not seeing the forest for the trees so to speak.
The Republicans are the ruling party now?
(You do know that's who filed the Colorado law suit.)

But sure, let's follow your philosophical position as you see it.
Any restriction on eligibility is an infringement of democracy.
If that's what you believe, then you think non citizens of any age can hold office as well, correct?
Also, do you believe in elections?
Since elections have rules and eligibility requirements and you are against those, you can't really support them, can you?

I will ask you the same thing I've been asking Not Getting Younger - is this just "You aren't allowed to restrict Trump" thing or do you have a specific, thought out view on eligibility and rules for elections?
If the latter, what is that view?

To whom?

You posted this in post 323 and have posted no links since then.

You posted a link to 270 to win, which doesn' t have that info and that appears to be the only link you posted.
Maybe you are thinking of another thread?

Interesting.
You don't believe Trump's own statements on the matter?

They should let the people decide. Let him run, I say. Biden clearly won the last time. Why would anyone think Trump would win this time around? Keep this political bullshit out of the courts.
Same question I've been asking the others.
Is this a realpolitik situation ("The fallout of him being removed would be bad, so the 14th amendment should just be ignored in this case.")?
That is what it sounds like from your statement, but I want to makes sure people are being clear.

I see you feel the need to drag it into this is child..So I’ll ask you the same thing. I’ll also ask you to grow up instead of acting like a petulant child and find some backbone.

“IF”……99% of Americans want him, rules or not. What do you say?. Or are you afraid to expose yourself. And why can’t you grasp that answers your question. How many brain farts can you have in a day/topic/thread. Find some backbone Valcazar.

btw
You rather boldly asserted just up above “proper application”. I wasn’t aware you are a judge on the Supreme Court. Good to know god.

lastly.
considering all this stems from the civil war…a war in which the Union ignored the rules and law at the time and... Does that make you a hypocrite? How would you define Americans that rebelled against her majesty….insurrectionalist? So much for “rules and law”.

And would it be fair to suggest in both cases the “majority” ruled. And maybe now is the time to remind you, that back in day, those same Americans granted amnesty.

So answer the question. If. The vast majority of Americans want him, rules or not. Do you believe in freedom and democracy or not?

Question two now. Do you have a backbone?

So if 99% of Americans decided Taylor Swift should be queen forever you'd back that as well? She's way more popular.
Or is this ending of democracy only for the orange alpha male of your choice?

You asked me for proof and I provided it...and like a true leftist you simply ignore it and deflect to something else.
I can almost script your responses.
