The Houthis are attacking commercial vessels going through the Bab-al-Mandeb and Red Sea. This is the route to the Suez Canal and large commercial container-ship companies are re routing shipping around the Cape of Good Hope. In a couple of weeks, prices are going to spike in Europe and inflation and shortages are going to hit hard.

What's your thinking about the time frame for the USN and the RN to start taking serious counter measures to these unprovoked attacks?

Wouldn't be the first time the US put a few cruise missiles into countries with which they were not actually at war, drone strikes as well...

Of course it will. The North Atlantic Treaty Organization cannot let the Houties harm Israel.

I think NATO is far more concerned with the Hoots droning or missiling container ships en route to Marseille or Athens.

Israel is fighting in Gaza, the West Bank, Syria, Lebanon, has fired into Egypt and is now threatening Yemen.
There is zero chance NATO would back Israel in this.

Biden might join in but NATO would be nuts to back a genocide.

They have to. Houthis are the same Islamic terrorists like hamas or isis.

The US is moving the Eisenhower strike group to the gulf of Aden. A British ship and the Egyptians hit some Houthi drones. Nothing wrong with hitting the Houthi missile and military sites to straighten them out.

Your article says they are thinking about it but worried about this starting up something with Iran, since they are backing Yemen.
That would be Netanyahu's wet dream fulfilled, he's been pushing to get the US in a war with Iran for decades.

The US will strike the Houthis, if they keep hitting ships in the Red Sea. Everyone, not only Netanyahu and the Sunnis will be happy if the US strikes Iran. The world will be a better place without the ayatollahs and their barbaric government.

I am curious what would progressive Iranians think about it. The ones that demonstrate against ayatollahs at mel lastman square almost every week or so. Would they want the US to strike Iran?

I agree that the neocons and Israel are chomping at the bits for a chance to attack Iran.

But You may want to think this through.

NATO has been beaten by both Afghanistan and Russia. The only way it can beat Iran is with thermonuclear devices, which will mean a global nuclear war. Nobody will survive.

You think they see Gaza and think 'if only that could happen to us?'

The US and Israel are trying to avoid contagion. The Us will not attack the Houthis unless they have no choice. So far they have fpoe the most part been able to neutralize the drone and rockets.
