At some point, irrational person would think that if the demand for service providers is dropping because fewer people are indulging or doing it less often, the prices would subsequently drop as well.

Let’s hope so.
I saw a couple of providers that went up to 500 and 300 respectively, at one time, only to go back down again to 350/400 and 200 respectively, a couple of weeks ago. However, I don't think this will be the norm. I'm expecting most providers with a website, or tryst presence, or verified leolist, to go up at least 50 dollars next year, if they didn't increase the rates already.
Again, not throwing shade at any of them, it's great people giving value to their service, go for it as long as there's people paying for it, supply and demand. It's just a reminder for people who liked to indulge on this and used to have some extra cash for fun, to make a pause, and think twice what R&R really means.

I've slowed down to almost non-existent since covid. Like 2-3 times a YEAR now. Mind you, I only see independent MA's (well, 95% of the time. I've seen a couple of FS providers just to test the waters)

The main thing keeping me from going more often isn't just the $$$, it's the service. 5, 6, 7 years ago, I'd get hits far more than misses, but I factored in the misses and was rarely disappointed. It was also much easier to swallow $100-$120 "loss". And I still got off every time, so it was never a total loss. I find it's now more an assembly-line approach for the providers. Get them in and get them out, and more often than not I'm now leaving $150-$200 shorter in the wallet and actually disappointed.

When I started into this, there was a lot of women doing this as a side hustle. So lower volume for the most part and able to charge a lower price. It wasn't their sole source of income. I've seen one lady go from $80/hr (massage and HE) to $150/hr the next year, to $180/hr currently. I mean, good for her, but it's priced me out.

Watch the inflation, economy, recession in 2024. The sessions will reduce significantly. Ottawa is not a good market either.

The urge has gone down after the lockdowns and time away from the hobby. The prices have gone up (extra $ for standard services pre-covid) and service gone down. Many of my favourites have retired. The ones I like to meet are either in the east end or our schedules don't align. Have to jump through hoops to meet some ladies. All these reasons make this a less fun activity for me now. It's too much work to book or find fun providers.
Porn and my trusty hand provide more satisfaction. Alas Cantaloupes are also not fun and safe anymore 😁.

I agree with many posters. I don't feel same quality of services lately compared with that of 3 or 4 years ago. Often times, I don't feel as much an urge to go compared with before because I don't feel the same with what I used to experience before. So I have been going less often. On top of that, sometimes I feel the money has other better use for it.

I have pretty much stopped hobbying as I have been priced out of the industry. I make a decent amount of money but simply cannot justify paying almost double what I paid two or three years ago. If I really get the urge, I will visit Alpha, Hush, or CMJ for the company of a lady but I have not done so since the summer. The reality is the culture of spas have changed too where what is advertised isnt necessarily what is delivered. Forum rules prevent me from elaborating but if you visit the spas, you know what I mean.
