It's totally blown out of proportion. You really thing he's going make his decision based on something so trivial?
All the media, who have more inside info than we do, have reported that Ohtahni wanted it kept hush hush and it may be held against an organization of word leaked.

Don't shoot the messenger.

I'm very aware of what the media said. I'm simply saying, It's a pretty ridiculous concept because Dave Roberts said "yes, we met with him" that he would not play in the place he really finds the most attractive. This is one of the biggest decisions in life, and it was no secret the Dodgers were in on him so I find it hard to believe something so stupid would be the reason he doesn't sign.

Is Rogers the richest ownership group/conglomerate in MLB? If not, they've gotta be close.

And yet they didn't send Ben Wagner out on the road to broadcast the away games in person. Pathetic.

They might well be the richest, but that is because they are a public company which has some inherent limitations as well. As a public company, current profitability is also more important to them than many other teams. Only two teams are publicly held in baseball - Toronto and Atlanta. And Atlanta is less of a spender than Toronto and that isn't changing.
If only Toronto had a GM like Atlanta has.

I'm sure it's nothing, but the net is buzzing right now about a flight leaving from John Wayne Airport to YYZ . The planes history is that Otani is known to take that plane. The plane shows it was in Oakland when Otani was visiting SanFran. The it flew to Honolulu which is where Ohtani's GF is from apparently. Now it's coming to Toronto which is an odd flight from that Airport to Pearson, and that plane hasn't done that route before.

Ohtani signed 6 years ago on Dec 8th. Another weird fact.

This reminds me of the Kawhi Leonard situation. Is he? Isn’t he? Where is he going? He went to Niagara Falls? He went to a Jays game? He was spotted eating in the downtown restaurant? Etc. etc. what path the flight took lol Now all we need is Drake to offer Ohtani his private jet.

Yes, twitter is acting very similar to the Kawhi FA decision.

That being said the sudden change in odds in the last few hours to a "Pickem" between LA and Toronto is more closely linked to the "Where would Kawhi get traded" betting markets, when San Antonio was trading Kawhi. At that time, Toronto was lingering as a mid- possibility, then all of a sudden the markets changed where Toronto moved to a co-favourite. Within 24 hours Kawhi was traded to Toronto.

I absolutely love the United States. I spend so much time in the United States, that I’m literally a part-time citizen lol I have family and friends scattered all over the US.

One of the guys on The Walk Off Podcast, was saying it’s not like Japan has any reason to show any loyalty to the US, as history would indicate. His co-host was even questioning that controversial comment/theory. But who knows, maybe there is some truth of that?

I'd be shocked if Ohtani signs here.
I don't think management gives two shits about winning a championship. Their mandate is to make money and increase the value of the franchise. Build a good enough team to just make the playoffs and then see what happens.

Try googling “Ohtani” and Google is in a complete frenzy right now. Look at some of these headlines lol. Not for nothing, but this hype and anticipation is crazy.

He'll be signing here for sure, already arrived at the airport. Vegas odds updated. If there's anything I've learned is never ignore the Vegas

Although it appears he was not headed to Toronto, Vegas now has him at -115 or 54% chance of signing with Jays.
