My introspection on the idea of love

I made a thread a while back essentially making the claim that sex is love to me. The more a woman gives me an orgasm, the more I love her was my perception of love. The more a woman gets my dick hard, the more I love her. The more oxytocin that gets produced in my brain enabled by that particular woman, The more I love her.

When I have made this argument to users, a decent consensus has responded with something like “That is not love, that is infatuation.” I would also read some people defining love as accepting the person’s flaws and accepting them on their worst days.

I like women that make me bite my bottom lip whenever I see them and I get a boner; That I’m so attracted to that I always think about having sex with them. If that’s what you call infatuation instead of love, then I would like to be in a relationship with a woman that’s predicated on infatuation.

Ideally, I would like to be in a relationship with woman who I love and infatuated with but if I had to choose one over the other, then it would be infatuation.

Short to medium term: Sure!

Long term: Big Mistake. The infatuation/lust will wear off, and if that's all it was you will not be a happy egg...

As a wise man once told me "Never marry a woman with whom you are just having an affair."

I have always liked (infatuation as some may call it) women with a BBL, fake long nails, a boob job, botox work done on their face and lip fillers. That never changed for many years and those are actually the qualities that I look for in a romantic relationship.

Would you still say that it’s a big mistake to look for a long-term relationship with a woman who has those qualities?

"Love or Infatuation?" Infatuation is instant desire. It is one set of glands calling to another. Love is friendship that has caught fire. It takes root and grows -- one day at a time. Infatuation is marked by a feeling of insecurity. You are excited and eager but not genuinely happy. There are nagging doubts, unanswered questions, little bits and pieces about your beloved that you would just as soon not examine too closely. It might spoil the dream. Love is quiet understanding and the mature acceptance of imperfection. It is real. It gives you strength and grows beyond you -- to bolster your beloved. You are warmed by his presence, even when he is away. Miles do not separate you. You want him nearer. But near or far, you know he is yours and you can wait. Infatuation says, "We must get married right away. I can't risk losing him." Love says, "Be patient. Don't panic. Plan your future with confidence." Infatuation has an element of sexual excitement. If you are honest, you will admit it is difficult to be in one another's company unless you are sure it will end in intimacy. Love is the maturation of friendship. You must be friends before you can be lovers. Infatuation lacks confidence. When he's away, you wonder if he's cheating. Sometimes you check. Love means trust. You are calm, secure and unthreatened. He feels that trust, and it makes him even more trustworthy. Infatuation might lead you to do things you'll regret later, but love never will. Love is an upper. It makes you look up. It makes you think up. It makes you a better person than you were before.

  1. Mind Sparks (Intellectual Fireworks): At the zenith lies the realm of mental marvels, where synapses collide in a symphony of shared thoughts, witty repartee, and cerebral sparks that form an unbreakable bond, transcending the ordinary.
  2. BFFL HQ (Comrades-in-Arms): Nestled closely follows the sanctuary of eternal camaraderie, where besties forge an unshakable alliance, ready to tackle life's quests together, armed with inside jokes and unwavering loyalty.
  3. Heartstrings Harmony (Emotive Symphony): Here, souls sway in an emotional ballet, entwined in a dance of empathy, understanding, and profound emotional connections, resonating in a secret language of the heart.
  4. Vibes Avenue (Platonic Harmony): This boulevard buzzes with shared vibes, passions, and mutual interests, creating an orchestra of shared adventures and a mutual zest for life's wonders, syncopated with a rhythm all their own.
  5. Respect Park (Boundary Boulevard): At the foundation rests a serene park named "Mutual Respect," a sacred space where both pledge allegiance to the platonic realm, honoring each other's autonomy and preserving the sanctity of a non-romantic relationship.
And let's not forget that initial spark:

  • Eros Lane (Physical Flutters): Sneaking in as a precursor to the platonic layers, this alley is where butterflies flutter and heartbeats race, introducing the journey with fleeting sparks of physical attraction, paving the way for deeper, more enduring connections.
It's all love. We under play the importance Of the key triad Physical Emotional and economics.

Only if you're positive that she also has the mutual mental compatibility and personality qualities that will last once the thrill of sex is gone.

As the old bad joke goes, "For every stunning women you see walking down the street, who you would give your left nut to have sex with, there is some guy who is tired of fucking her."

The ladies may hate me for this, but imho if they are doing all those enhancements in the hopes of finding true love, as opposed to primarily a short or long term meal ticket, they are either lacking in general self-esteem or significantly misguided.

Btw Tashki, haven't you posted similar threads before?

I have a question for you. You would say that having sex with providers is a form of love?
It isn't romantic love unless the feeling is mutual.

Some people need to love somebody. Some people need to be loved by somebody. Some people love each other. Some people love hockey, or cherry cheesecake. Some people love to watch.

The ancient Greeks had 8 forms of love:
  • Eros (romantic, passionate love) ...
  • Philia (affectionate love) ...
  • Agape (selfless, universal love) ...
  • Storge (familiar love) ...
  • Mania (obsessive love) ...
  • Ludus (playful love) ...
  • Pragma (enduring love) ...
  • Philautia (self love)
The point being there is no single form of love, but variations and reflections of the same emotion. They're all branches from the same tree. When people talk about "Greek" on here, I assume they're trying to express something about this complex topic.

NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

let me say for the ones in the back.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

When will you learn? When will you go get the help you need? You do realize that the longer you refuse help, the longer you will stay alone right????

You want so hard to be in a relationship and it will just not happen until you work on your first.

But this is not what the OP wants to hear. He will ignore posts like mine or @NotADcotor and only engage with posters who fuel his thoughts and feelings.

At this point / the ignore feature is my friend.

Love is when someone else’s joy brings joy and when you would place their welling being ahead of your own. I love my children.
Love has nothing to do with sex for me. I love plenty of people that I would never fuck and I have fucked many people whom I wouldn’t piss on if they were on fire.

From the philosophical medical psychological perspective yes. from Cultural romantic rom com zeitgeist no.

Assuming The sex with providers is pleasurable Chemically it's the same as with any other romntic encounter. Buy resisting the chemical impulse Either subconscious hangups Are practical assement Reduce that Chemicals burst Or add other chemicals to the mix. Detachment for example.

Regardless lust is the 1st stage Of the love effect. Arranged marriages depend on this. by not resisting the effect It will eventually lead to Higher levels of deeper love.
Think eating candy. Is Sugar tudh rral like Or just A trick Of the mind. Candy is not real food. But the lie from it is real even if may not continue to It'd be in your favorite food. but process has started.

Culturally we Make a sharp distinction between Short-term feelings And long-term feelings. its taboo to see it as a spectrum for Both good and bad reasons just like cousin hookups while legal are taboo.

Well infatuation eventually fades and never lasts. I guess enjoy it while it’s strong and you feel it.

Sounds like love is all surface level to the OP and nothing else.
The woman doesn't even have to speak.

Do you feel like you need anything else beyond what you just stated?
I don’t think so

Do you value friendships with people?
Yes I do with the exception of women that I am sexually interested in.

Do you have people you care for?
Yes

Do you also see that the people who would agree with your definition of a relationship would also feel the same way? In that sense how do you make yourself be always attractive to the other person? Would you get plastic surgery to get to that point where ppl would lust over you?

Hypothetically speaking if AI and sex-robot tech became a bit more advanced is that something you prefer? A human like sexbot with AI capabilities (like the movie 'Her')

There's nothing wrong with wanting what you described as long as the other person understands that's all there is to the relationship you want.
For the kind of woman that I want, I suppose that I would need to be socioeconomically higher than her. No, I would not get plastic surgery. Men and women generally look for different things. Just because I love women that have plastic surgery doesn’t mean I need to get plastic surgery as well to attract them.

Thanks for posting.
