Both are married with kids (obviously in Bedard's case).

If the story turns to be true that is the main tragedy. Perry's wife is stunning! I remember first time I saw pic of her I tough my god what does she sees in this douche bag???
she's decent but not Mrs. Phaneuf level...

This is a picture of her 20 years ago. Elisha Cuthbert is 40 now. She doesn't look like a 21 year old anymore.

not always sure...
Unless the Hawks are terminating his contract without buyout, there is no basis for grievance.
And I suspect they are paying him out or buying him out.

If he clears waivers the Hawks have announced that they are terminating his contract effective immediately, there's no buyout.
Something about being "engaged in conduct that is unacceptable and in violation of both the terms of his Standard Player's Contract and the Blackhawk's internal policies intended to promote professional and safe work environments".

He's on a waiver. A team getting him would then have to pay his salary. If no team does, which I think is what will happen, Perry can fight the team to pay his salary. He would most probably win. Yet due to circumstance I do think he won't do that.

As for Bedard's mom I think a more costly divorce is on program. Could be wrong of course. Let's follow what happens. Bedard's father commuted 3h per day for 10 years to have a high paying job in the forest BC industry to pay out their costly west vancouver home and Connor's expense as a youth player... Fuck if this whole thing is true he must be fucking pissed!

I didn’t think they terminated it with cause. But it appears they did . And yes that could theoretically lead to a grievance.

Thought it was just a traditional waivers for the purpose of release which would require full payment of remaining salary when he went unclaimed.

I wouldnt be surprised if the two sides came to some mutual agreement regarding some buyout so there would be no grievance and the matter is closed immediately.

You are correct in the case of waiving someone for the purpose of terminating their contract.

Just to be clear though, putting a player on waivers who will then clear, is not usually a way you can get out of paying someone (Edmonton would have loved that with Jack Campbell) almost all waivers are for purpose of demoting someone or outright releasing someone.

Contract terminations of high profile players are rare … last one I remember is Evandet Kane .. I’m sure there have been a few that I missed.

I would be surprised, but not stunned if he ends up on someone’s roster in March … it’s a possibility his career is not over.

He will now be more easily acquired by a contender at minimum salary, and Perry arguably doesn’t play with much shame so he may be willing to come back. Perhaps some team will rationalize it.

This is only notch up from fucking a family member (in-law).
There is so much inter connectedness, families with team, families to families. players with each others' families,
older players mentoring younger players.
This is way more traumatic than meets the eye.
And Bedard, only 18 yrs old.
I feel for the father too.
All the sacrifice, time and money to get him here, and as soon as he gets him here, he takes it in the ass, publicly.

That is a total mystery. It's well known the Habs did not like when one of their player was a bad boy. Yet all knew, especially team mate at the time Serge Savard, that Guy Lafleur had a mistress in every city of the league ;)

Flower got away with it because he had class. Chelios got caught urinating in public... Out he went.
There were many French Quebecers that were happy the Habs traded Chris Chelios for a fading Denis Savard (then and still now)… a brutal, brutal trade.

The Chelios trade almost fucked the Habs as much as the Patrick Roy trade. Chelios was a Norris Caliber stud defenceman for another 10 years after the trade. Even now many French media will not acknowledge how terrible it was in retrospect, and will come up with narratives how Savard’s presence won the cup in 1993. It’s asinine.

If he did sleep with her, do you expect them release a statement acknowledging it?
No. Of course not.

A review would do the trick.

Well yes there is a lot of truth to that. Because the thing is the Habs won the Stanley cup 2 years later with 13 french Quebecois player on the team. I have always think that at equal talent the habs should always pick a french Quebecois. It's a big advantage that they should have exploited much more often. They never did after that and we have mostly sucked since 1993...

Savard admitted later on trading chelios was a huge mistake. Trading Roy was of pure ego by then coach Tremblay who taught he was THE leader...

Um, why is no one placing equal blame on mom? Cripes she is just as guilty of shit and was THE OTHER ADULT IN THE ROOM.
Maybe if she even seduced him, but there's supposed a code of conduct (unwritten) where you need to consider your teammates as much as you do yourself. It means that sometimes you have to resist temptation for the sake of a teammate. And on top of that, in this case he was supposed to act as a mentor to guide him along. Instead Perry made things more complicated for Bedard.

Breaking a teammate code is a very big deal.
