I'm not sure if there is much basis for this rumour (although would never say its 100% no) - just an example how stories can spread quickly out of control and gain "merit" or "acceptance" on Twitter. Which is why social media and twitter can be so dangerous in more serious aspects such as politics - but that is not for discussion here.
