It would be like arguing that the complaints about Trump's wall were that the idea of having anything on any border was the problem or people were arguing that building any wall at all was racist.

The GOP could easily find a legislative solution and work out a compromise with the Dems. The GOP will not do this because the issue is too valuable for them on election day. And the GOP will spend its time on shit it prefers to do like inquiries into Hunter Biden's laptop, tax cuts for billionaires and abortion bans.
And threatening to beat up committee witnesses.

But since only idiots think that Trump was called racist for the concept of a wall and not the specifics of what kind of wall he wanted to build and the rationale behind it, this whole "Biden is building 20 miles of wall and so you have to admit that's just as racist is Trump" just reflects pretty badly on you for thinking it makes any sense.

I think Biden has handled the immigration issue very badly overall.
I don' t think he cares about it enough to invest real political capital there.
