Yup the land of the free but DON'T YOU DARE have an abortion even if the women's life is in danger or raped or and or and or and DON'T YOU DARE pay for sex or you will be locked up! Yup, the land of the free my ass! LOL I'll stay in Canada thank you.
You do realize many of those people from South of the border do not believe in abortion. They have no interest in the availability of abortion.

While I am pro-choice, I have never thought of abortion has some great freedom or right. It's a very sad practice that I support on practical and pragmatic terms.

Well, I hate to break it to you but this ludicrous no-abortion stance blocked any expected red wave in 2022 and will once again rear its beautiful head in 2024 and splat the hopes and dreams of any Republican candidate.

You might know U.S. general elections bring out more voters who aren't motivated by one issue or even two. They bring out the voters who look at their overall economics and global events. They will consider the border crisis, but it won't be the only thing they consider. They might consider the access to abortion, but in battleground states they will be satisfied with some restrictions.

If you only watch or read U.S. media, you would be led to believe access to abortion is one of the most pressing issues in the 2024 election. Not surprisingly, polls won't pick up abortion as the driving issue in a general.

Squeeze, I would love to see you greet migrants at the border with "Welcome to America! We can send you to somewhere with free, unfettered access to abortion. Migrant: "Qué carajo?"

Jalimon above says the migrants don't like cold weather.

I see but crying about the border didn't help your side in 2022 and it surely didn't help Dimwit Don in 2020. BTW, you do realize the economy under Biden is doing great and will only get better as interest rates get scaled down a tad in 2024, and by the time the general election comes around, the economy will be buzzing but the GOP will have accomplished nothing, nada, zilch and the abortion noose will still be hanging around the Repugs slimy neck. I will be the one telling you I TOLD YOU SO and you will have to bow your head in shame as the Canadian outshines the American in his own house! ;)

I live here and am strongly versed on economic matters. I would also mention I didn't cheerlead Trump's economic policies for some evidence of objectivity.

Things are slowing here in the U.S. I would admit they could be better next year. The problem is a matter of timing. Incomes adjusted for inflation are lower than when Biden took office. These are things that weigh on non-ideological voters unlike yourself. Some of this is bad timing for Biden, but I also have repeatedly said some of Biden's policies whether you like them or not have not made most people better off. Frankly, many of his Administration's policies were intensely pro-cyclical and forced the Fed to raise interest rates more than they would have otherwise. The inflation has eroded pocket books. Some of this is just what it is.

I don't want to upset your belief system too much, but the global economic press is concerned about Canada's slowing productivity and business investment. It's easy to find on the web. One can always argue about short-term effects, but this is very bad for Canada's long-term prospects. (Every legitimate economist regardless of political leaning knows productivity is what drives prosperity.) Progressives are always far too overconfident in government's ability to directly guide business investment and drive productivity. These are the issues Canadians on social media should be discussing even if they are uncomfortable and do not conform to progressive ideology.

Perhaps it's lost on you that they aren't continuing on to the Canadian border at some point. It would seem easy to cross over into Canada. Maybe they think there is more opportunities for them and their families longer-term in the U.S. than Canada.
There is this to keep in mind, of course.
