Tattoos go on people. Bumper sticklers go on cars. It’s devaluing people by comparing the two.
Stop playing silly Robert. You know it’s true.
substitute the words Jew and Christian for Bumper Sticker and Tattoo and this pretty much sums up your point.
Or Hooker and Car....
:)

Yeah. I guess penis and thin noodle or pencil are the same as a hooker and a car. Why didn’t I think of that???

Thanks all for your input. I am still deciding what to do and want to be sure before I mention anything to her as I have not said anything yet.

I have been looking at pictures of tattoos to see if I can get used to them. that maybe I am overreacting. they are not big tattoos and she said she put them on her back to be discrete.
would these be defined as discrete,
I mean there is a 3 or 4 letter word in 10 font on the bottom right,
and a smaller 4 word phrase of something in 8 font on the bottom left.
and a 2"x2" symbol or image of something between shoulder blades
and another small 3 word phrase in small font on the top right...

I don't see anyone who claimed that the tattoos where done to personally spite them.
It's interesting how two people can see the same thing that isn't there at all- and also use the same emoji in posts.
I asked the same thing and still waiting for an answer.

I just said what he wrote.

I didn’t say how I see it personally. I saw what his opinion was and posted to assist.

Although it seems like the OP is personally upset. Is upset and offended the same thing here?

My take away is the OP is disappointed that the body he was attracted to isn't anymore. Like any business where the service model changes not to your liking he should simply end his custom.
Which is what I said to begin with.

and my opinion, he is a little more then just disappointed. One member even used the word hate to describe tattoos on a woman. Pretty strong word. Not saying offended but some men do seem to have some strong emotional issues about what other people do to their own body. Seems silly to me personally.

No, he was comparing women’s body’s to cars.
Exactly. Devaluing a woman to an inanimate object. Which is what I said to begin with. It was Robert who said he was comparing tattoos to bumper stickers not women to cars.

Thank you for proving my point. Appreciate it.

Seems I have to repeat myself here for two pages on this thread just for guys to come back and prove me right from the beginning.

No, you’re missing a subtle point here. A person is more than a body; the body is just a container for a person. A person owns their body just like they own their car. They are free to decorate their bodies just as they are free to decorate their cars. Others are free to judge them for their choice of decorations.

I’m not missing anything. That is your opinion. I think comparing person’s body to a car is devaluing the person. That is my opinion. Sorry but as someone whose body has created, carried and produced a life form - it is a little more then just a container for a person.

A body and a car are not equal for comparison in any way, shape or form. No matter how you try to make it appear that they are, they simply are not. That is just the facts.

However - I never said don’t make opinions about people’s tattoos. So let’s be clear here. I have said from post one the OP can do what he wants. Except get her to remove them of course.

So judge all you want - but you can also be judged for your type of judgment of others. So don’t be surprised when people call you shallow or other things for hating someone’s tattoos so much. I’m not saying you personally BTW. Just to be clear about that as well.

No. It’s not an opinion, it’s a ubiquitous tenet of many philosophical systems. The body is not the person, it merely contains them. Disliking a person’s body is not the same as disliking a person. From a practical standpoint; I‘m sure there are many people you enjoy talking with, it have no desire to fuck. You like the person, you’re not so keen on the body.

So you are devaluing women to a car???? Because somehow a human being, with thoughts, feelings and wants and an inanimate object are the same????

Ok.
Not just a car but fabulous machines to be beholden.....And he's right...There won't be a bumped sticker in sight.

Again, as someone who has grown and produced life from this body - I’m going to respectfully disagree that it is a mere container.

Your right to disagree is sacrosanct (Once, a much younger version of myself signed on the dotted line to defend that right with my life). However, your position is contrary to many schools of philosophical thought, including basic feminism. The body isn't you. Your mind is you; your body is just matter; do with it as you will.

Discussions, much like science, are always open to debate.
