The problem with delaying the Israeli ground invasion is that it lets Hamas dig in deeper, while it prolongs the Israeli bombing attacks that inevitably kill innocents, and the siege whose effects are horrific to watch.
Hamas is making sure the world sees what the Palestinians are suffering, while Israel is holding back public viewing of the Oct. 7 videos that they showed to a select group of media people. I believe the world should see those Oct. 7 videos, while perhaps pixilating or otherwise rendering suitable for broadcast whatever video footage is deemed too extreme for broadcast by the world media.
I understand Biden trying to hold the ground invasion back. Maybe to allow for further hostage negotiations, but Hamas will release hostages so slowly that the world will forget most of Oct. 7 and sympathize more with the innocents in Gaza. I also understand that Biden fears a ground invasion will bring other bad actors in the region into the hostilities, and require a response from the US in the region, which he would rather avoid.
In my opinion Israel should start the ground invasion asap and destroy Hamas, if not ideologically, then at least militarily, so they will be unable to attack Israel with any significant military strength for years to come.
Short term pain for long term gain, as opposed to long term pain for both sides. I feel that is preferable to what I fear will be the US before long demanding a ceasefire, leaving Hamas in power with further attack capabilities.
