Housing solutions.
JT has made $ available to 1st buyers. Don’t recal exact details, other than it was an obvious vote buy for Millenial support.
Aka not a solution, but targets a specific demographic.
There are things the Feds can do.
Healthcare:
Mostly true but there’s equalization.
taxes
Not true. There’s obvious direct taxation and then there’s Fees we pay for this or that. Other things like increased CPP and EI..
Carbon taxes. Which will have downstream cost. (Paying for widgets to be trucked). Stores, warehouses also have to heat places…that’s more expense to them..so you…It’s also a tax on a tax. Nor does it treat everyone the same. Not everyone can ride a bike or take a bus/subway to school, work, the corner store..
Inflation.
Wages over the last 50-60 years stagnant when adjusted for it. Lots of new Taxes, Fees,
if you spend say 40,000 a year on this or that. And HST is 13%. The govts get.?????
When the same stuff cost 50,000 the next year and HST is 13%. The govt gets?????
$1,300 more but your wages haven’t changed.
Cost me roughly depending on wind/temp. Roughly $700/month for propane Nov through March. 23% of that is tax.
when I lived in Durham I paid $100/month for Nat Gas. Worded different. This winter, starting now. I will spend roughly $3,500 to $4,300 to heat my home. If it’s a cold winter let’s call that $4,000.
Tax: $920
Nat gas at say $100/month x 23%=??
Here’s the kicker. I got an email from Hydro 1 a couple days ago. Telling me I should switch to Electric heat (checks Ontarios hydro rates)
Re housing. What is the problem/cause
Demand ( caused by??)
Sure we can increase supply ( we are way way behind) and continue to gobble up farmland. At the fastest rate in North America.
Why not lower demand. Or take pressure off demand. Balance shit out. Do the things that draw people to the GTA like flies to shit ($$$$)
somewhere else for a change
