New guy - STIs?

Hi there,

I'm very new to SPs and one of my concerns is STIs. Reading reviews, I notice that many guys indulge in skin-to-skin DATY and DATO, aside from kissing of course. I'm looking at this as a numbers game. Kissing, DATY and DATO seems like playing russian roulette with your health. What am I missing here? Are STI levels much lower than I imagine them, do clients accept that catching STIs here and there is part of the deal, or is it something else entirely? Have you, personally, caught any STIs as a result of seeing a SP? I'm not looking to single out SPs - just speaking generally.

Any tips in this domain are appreciated. Apologies if the question comes across as silly.

Kids starts to learn about safe sex practice in grade 7.

There are also millions of websites that could educate you on the risk and protection of such sexual activities.

There must be over 100's of posts regarding the same subject mostly posted by newbies and trolls. Maybe Terb should have a forum for this topic instead of the lounge? So that we can easily ignore these redundant posts

Actually the dedicated topic is not a bad idea. It's easier than sifting through hundreds of posts in search.

We are different people. Are you going to change your risk tolerance based on what mine is?
Knowing the risk tolerance of more experienced people and their thinking behind it can only help me. All good if you don't want to share it though.

Yeah… you’re going to catch something. It’s not hard to make the girl gargle (real mouthwash, not the crap they give you) with the girl, and invite her to shower with you. Cuts the simple infections almost completely.

Don’t go down on her the first time - they don’t cum anyway and it’s where most of your risk is.

If it burns when you pee, wait three days before freaking out. Sometimes it’s just the condom burning, sometimes it’s something your body will clear on its own.

Burns after three days or discharge any time, go to Hassle Free Clinic.

One thing to keep in mind: girls that fuck for a living are typically more on top of STDs than randoms at clubs.

Overall, (bb) oral is lower risk, but not zero. Many of us are willing to take that small risk, some aren’t and prefer condom for bj, or dental dam for daty. In some ways I think you can mitigate risk by choosing reputable providers, most of whom are very in touch with their sexual health, it’s their livelihood after all. Fwiw, wash up well after, use an antiseptic mouthwash. Get tested frequently, and especially if you develop symptoms.

I’m interested in the new studies on doxycycline PEP, that significantly reduced STI in people engaging in high risk sex. Id imagine if used after relatively low risk activities like oral, the small risks would probably drop to zero.

You have to advocate for your health. Do what is safe and comfortable for you.

Get tested regularly and get vaccinated (Gardasil, Twinrix etc). And have protected sex. Oral can be unprotected, which isn't that much of a risk. But penetrative always protected. And no PS, that is dangerous as well.

That said, oral sex, rimming, kissing etc are very low risk. Most STIs can be cured by anti-biotics.

HPV will clear on its own, but you can get Gardasil 9 for it. Get Twinrix for Hepatitis A & B.

HIV is very low risk today. When I asked for the HIV test, the doctor at Hassle free told me - "If you are a straight guy, even if you had unprotected sex with sex workers, I still am not worried because in my 25 years I have seen very few straight people get HIV. And literally no one from oral sex". I still did it, and of course I was negative. PS: This doesn't mean engage in unprotected sex. Always have protected sex.

Herpes though cannot be detected or cured. But remember it is just a skin rash at the end of the day. It is not going to reduce your lifespan.
Thanks, this is very helpful. I am vaccinated against HPV and Hep. I am aiming to get on PrEp too (it also offers some protection against genital herpes). I will try oral dams and CBJ for the first time with these girls.

Maybe you should stick to porn until the paranoia subsides a little. You set your level of comfort to minimalize risk while enjoying yourself. I suggest that your choice of SP is important. The SP working behind the dumpster at Tim Horton's would be a definite no, no.

We have our own comfort levels - if you are blindfolded and can't tell the difference between your SP and an inflatable plastic doll - that is too much protection for me.

In 9 years 0 sti's. Daty, dato, bbbj, always cfs, never dt, never ps.
If I'm active get checked 3 times a year. Hiv, hep a,b,c, herpes 2, syphilis, gonorrhea, chlamydia.
Agreed the pro women (the good ones, the real pros) more careful and can be safer than civilian women.

Some people have sex every day of their life with different partners and never catch a thing. While some ppl receive a BJ and catch chlamydia ... no one is 100%. Dont stress on it though.

Everyone should read this article for some proper perspective about STIs:

In short, nothing is as bad as you think it is. HIV is the worst one, but the odds of a male catching it from vaginal sex are near zero. Everything else is either curable with antibiotics (Gon,Chl,Syph), or everyone already has it and most people never show symptoms (HSV, HPV), and even then the symptoms aren't that bad.

If you ever get symptoms of something, get tested/treated right away. Get tested regularly as well (every few months) to catch and treat any possible asymptomatic infections. Beyond that, you just have to choose your own personal risk tolerance and act accordingly.

Here are a few other resources:

Chances of catching STIs from specific activities:

I don't understand while some members here agree to protected vaginal sex is essential but would allow their bare tongues to lick that same wet pussy (DATY)? I would assume the risk involved is same but the only difference is the infected areas.

For ladies, it is understandable BBBJ is of low risk but CIM is not let alone swallow. Semens and pussy juice are known to be the primary medium to pass on STDs.

The risk is not the same at all. Unprotected sex is significantly more risky than unprotected oral, and for HIV there's pretty much zero chance from oral.
