Went to Longo's for Thanksgiving groceries, looked for the nefarious $119.99 cooked turkey, couldn't find any. Thanksgiving is one of the rare times I buy butter $7.99 on special!?

Thanksgiving time to reflect on drunken debauchery, yes The Romans were massive alcoholics. The funny part is Milano was originally a Celtic city...anyone into horsemeat?

Stop whining already! There are cheaper options like buying frozen and cooking it yourself.

Longo's has always been a very expensive store like Loblaws. But many butchers tell me they have one of the top meat with costco.
I bought the Angus Prime Rib Roast from Longo's for $37.49, $6.49 discount only today. I used the Alison Roman application (above) the last time I roasted one. It was so fuckin good, I nearly had a Big Night moment.

That article must be a Fortinos (Loblaws) hit piece. Ian Holm, the most under-rated actor ever.

I've reserved Big Night for Sunday night. I don't mind paying for YT Red, they have the largest collection of films of any streaming service.

This is fucking nuts. Price gouging at it's worst.
Should a store be shamed if they have customers who somehow how can afford a very expensive turkey ?
The government cannot interfere with profits of retail grocers or can they with wage and price controls?
The politicians are just pandering and should be careful to not destroy profitable grocery enterprises which will cause other more even more serious economic problems.

Minister Champagne is attempting to take credit for flyers and savings promotions brought on by the grocers for this Thanksgivings, but this has been going on every holiday well before he was even born.

Communism doesn’t work and the politicians sometimes pseudo pandering to it because they find themselves on the hot seat which is very disingenuous. Socialism has a playbook of envy and the equal sharing of misery.
The politicians should not divert negative attention away from themselves and set the masses against the grocers encouraging envy and social unrests including stealing. Times are increasingly difficult, for some very difficult but nobody is starving.

Like I said "Stop whining like babies", there are cheaper options for Thanksgiving. Not every Turkey is going to cost $120.

$37.49/kg, I'm assuming that's almost 4 lbs of meat. Prime Rib is not turkey, you are correct in your cooking method Conil. I don't like turkey, it's bland and makes you sleepy. I wont eat duck either, they put a smile on my face and they eat insects. Without them mosquitos would eat us alive.

Release the Quacken!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is it me or are people fools that they just don't get it or don't know or avoid the truth, that each grocery store is divide by category , or ratio scales level.

A - Loblaws expensive - Fortinos
B - Sobeys - Wholefoods
C - Longos -
D - Metro, Costco???
E - Basic foods , No frills, Price chopper, Nations Foods (East Asian), Walmart
F - These are independents in my area - Goodness me, Marilu's Market - Expensive etc. Depending in the city they are in some are expensive in Class A or B or could be E.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure this out.
Just like cars Lexus / Toyota , Acura / Honda.

Longos is now owned by Sobey's parent company Empire Foods. I noticed their prices went up when Empire took over. They were always on the expensive side but now they are borderline ridiculous.
