Inexperience caught up with Ben Shelton, the tale of the tape, Shelton committed 24 unforced errors - Joker 7. Not just that, Joker lost only 2 points serving to the right court. You can't give way that many UEs, Joker will eat you like Andre the Giant. Like Hurkacz, Shelton hit the double 1st server but it wasn't enough. Joker had it figured out.
A lesson for Shelton, he's only going to get better.

I'm very happy Cori Gauff won, she's been working extremely hard for this. I hate the name Coco, as the Mexican Bandito said, "we don't need no stinkin Gone with the Wind".

Cori Gauff used the same game plan that Madison Keys tried against Sabalenka, only she didn't tire. Sabalenka is not a legit No. 1, she has glaring weaknesses. Attack her serve and extended rallies and your chances of beating her improve. Keys bagled her in the first set but couldn't convert tie-breaks on the second and third.
No Wimbledon Champion has also taken the US Open since Joker did it in 2011. Vondrousova or Swiatek would have given Cori a better match.

Coco turned pro at a very young age and so, now at age 19, she already knows how to conduct herself a a true pro. Coco's main coach is Pere Riba. Brad Gilbert is a consultant. She has won Washington, Cincinnati and US Open since the tandem came on board after first round exit at Wimbledon
In women's tennis I have no favorites, most Iga lovers say she's getting better with every passing tournament. I disagree, I say the next 10 players are getting stronger.
