Your economy is heavily integrated with the worlds largest economy, it’s not a bad thing. In some ways the East and West of Canada are more tightly integrated with the US than they are with each other.
“Bad thing”. Nope, not at all. Bit on trade, we have needed to wean ourselves off for sometime. I sometimes chuckle topic specific when Canadians look down their noses at the US. I hope the U.S. and its electorate sort their shit out while there’s time.
And yep, as we always do, have for decades we follow the US by a generation in virtually every trend. Look at the US around 2000. We could also look at housing prior to 2008, or consumer debt..at the start of 2008 US debt to income was 171%. We are a little over that today.
