There are no double standards. If anything refusal to accept responsibility and shame for slavery, segregation, the holocaust, colonialism and numerous other racially motivated crimes, while taking pride in accomplishments of someone else and assigning the credit to yourself because they shared a skin colour with you, is the double standard.

This is not what privilege recognition is about. There is no need to accept responsibility or feel shame for shit done in the past. We did not enslave people so why would we feel shame guilt?

Recognizing your privilege and attempting to ensure you don’t purposely use your privilege to harm or reduce from another is what it is about. Not feeling guilt.

Jews are proud of Einstein, and also their many Nobel prizes in science and other fields of work.
Brazilians are proud of their soccer team.
French are proud of their great cuisine.
