After signing a one-year, $950,000 contract with Toronto, and subsequently being released during spring training 2005, which former Blue Jay made no effort to catch on with another Major League team, and hasn't played professional ball since?

Andy Dominique
Nope.

Andy Dominique had two Major League hits, neither for the Jays. Nobody in their right mind would have given him $950K for one year.

In the spirit of the recently passed MLB trade deadline, which MLB pitcher was traded mid-season and then proceeded to go 16-1 with his new team.

Correctly answered by onomatopoeia.

This is for the people who did NOT watch tonight's Blue Jay game or watch Sportsnet afterwards(all 5 of you).

1) Who are the 4 players in Blue Jay history that hit a home run in their first at bat?

2) In 1998 Joe Siddall hit his only home run in his MLB career. Unfortunately, the visiting centerfielder threw the ball back into the crowd, not knowing it's significance. Who was the outfielder?

First question correctly answered by onomatopoeia.

I'll go with Alvis Woods, (opening day, 1977), Junior Felix, JP Arencibia and Davis Schneider tonight. I didn't watch the game, (no TV since August, 2017*), but I do read mlb(dot)com, so technically that isn't a cheat.

*Those c*cksuckers at Rogers... I was a cable TV subscriber for most of 1985-2017. In March, 2014, I bought the cable decoder box on 'rent to own' - I paid an additional $9 per month including tax for 36 months to own it. In spring, 2017, I got behind on my payments, but by August 1, the arrears was under $200. Mid August, 2017, they send me a hand written note saying that they are disconnecting my cable TV. They now do that by disabling the decoder box; it's much less expensive than having a technician cut the cable wires, like they used to do.

After disabling the decoder, (which, by then, was MY property, not theirs), they charged me a $35 re-connection fee, (with no service provided), and billed me for two additional months. When I spoke to a Rogers service rep, I mentioned that the cable box belonged to me, (Rogers had discontinued the rent to own policy, but existing contracts continued). There was an awkward silence, then the rep hung up. Since then a series of collection agencies have tried to get me to pay a huge amount, but I never hear from any of them again after I send the same e-mail explaining that what I had paid for the decoder box exceeded the amount of arrears when they discontinued my service.

I download TV from torrents exclusively now. The cost of a 12 Terabyte external hard drive is less than four months of Rogers Cable. I'm a big time video collector, and I have digital copies of almost every video I could possibly ever want to see, from the 1960's to present.

Your answer to the question is CORRECT.

Sorry to hear about your troubles with Rogers. The only part that surprises me is that they sent you a hand written note. Who sends hand written notes anymore?

Four players who were selected from the Toronto Maple Leafs' organization in the 1967 NHL Expansion Draft were later reacquired, and played for the Leafs at a later date.

Name as many as you can.

Two of these players did not play for the Leafs at the NHL level prior to the Expansion Draft, but they are not complete unknowns. Photographs of at least two of these players have appeared in this thread, in the 'What's his name?' category.
Bobby Baun and Brit Selby played for the Leafs both before and after the 1967-68 season.

Terry Clancy and Cowboy Bill Flett were drafted from the Leafs organization before playing their first NHL games, but they were later reacquired.

Which two players who played for the 1977 Toronto Blue Jays had the highest salaries?*

*One of the two was not part of the opening day roster. His salary as a Blue Jay is almost exactly equal to the full season salary for the other player.
Bill Singer and Doug Rader.

Rader had a $120K contract for 1977. He was purchased by the Jays on June 8. Singer had a $90K contract.
