It’s not really there nature as much as it’s really bad breeding and the fact that so many are abused and dumped at shelters. It’s a shame really. Dogs should be treated like loaded guns especially breeds that can seriously hurt someone.

sorry that happened to you. Owners should be held responsible for that type of behavior

lol not a flex. My partner loves mastiffs and all my other dogs have been rescues for the past 20 years. So I’ve had pitts, and other various danger breeds. Not that I prefer these types, I’d honestly love to have just a chill dog that I didnt have to police 24/7. I am a big guy so I can handle strong dogs, and I want to give dogs a nice home and a nice life.

Personally people who breed some of these dogs are a big issue, I tell my partner constantly that you shouldn’t own a dog you can’t physically control. But I constantly see irresponsible Pitt owners and other large breeds being walked by 100lb women.
If only people had that mentality, can't handle it, don't own it. There was a video a few weeks ago of a Pit attacking another dog, I think a German Shepherd, forgot to be honest. Long story short, it took about 5-10 minutes to get that dog to let go and it was a bunch of bystanders because the guy had zero control and wasn't physically capable of man handling his dog, he was a large overweight guy with zero mobility, but he had that Pitty for the look.
I tried to find it but in the search there were so many Pitt attacks, but not the one I mentioned.

I wonder what breed the pitbull like dog really was......

And applause to the good Samaritan who drove the injured lady to the hospital.
CTV is saying a pitbull mix.

"The victim, who CP24 is only identifying as Cara, said that she was out for a stroll with a friend when they encountered a medium-sized, “pitbull-mix” dog without a leash in front of a low-rise apartment building."

What the fuck is wrong with these dumb dog owners who refuse to leash their fucking dogs!

My cat likes to walk in the hallway of the apartment, and this dumb bitch brings out her dog without leashing him and the dog almost mauled my cat. Thankfully I stay very close to my cat when he walks and I moved quickly, blocked access and held the dog by its collar before the owner came and took control. SMH.
Why is she a dumb bitch when you are both breaking the same rule? Why is your cat allowed to roam free?

If you go to a park and go off leash I don’t care but don’t get mad if your dog gets torn apart by mine or me if it approaches. I love dogs and I don’t want any owners or their pets getting hurt.
This is why I won’t take mine ( a very strong, very smart breed, bred for certain jobs) to leash free parks. I would hate to have to put him down because some other owner….

luckily I live in the country and most concerns aren’t a concern. He has tons of room on my property to burn energy, and for me to work him. But there are a couple leash frees nearby, and nope not a chance. While mine is super well trained, I can’t trust other owners, their kids or their dogs.

Red House over yonder.
Would it help to require high risk insurance for owners of certain dog breeds? Some of these owners are free riders who refuse to bear the true costs of their risky behavior. Ownership costs of pit bulls and some other potentially dangerous breeds might not look so inviting.
Lions and tigers can be trained too but we do not allow them in our midst.

It's in every dog's nature to maul and kill. They have teeth that slice through flesh with ease for this very reason.

They're raised/trained to subdue their natural instincts by pet owners.

Leave dogs on their own and they quickly become pack animals ready to take down and eat humans.

Is this how they're avoiding the Pitbull ban by mixing them with another breed?

Lol. That's completely ridiculous
That's something a pet lover, rather than an animal lover, would say.

Appreciate all animals for what they are.

Wild horses will graze land for sustenance if left on their own. Wild dogs will kill and eat meat if left on their own. They're evolved from wolves after all.

Apparently, the owner (can we say female?) also has other animals. Some people of a certain age (are we allowed to say that?) who are lonely end up with dozens maybe 100's of pets. I remember when "catwoman" passed, they went in and found over 300 cats.

The fact you think a bunch of golden retrievers are gonna gang up in a pack and start hunting humans? Dogs would pick some much easier prey, and this scenerio would never happen.

Same reason wolves don't go out of their way to hunt down humans now. 😂

You know what happens to lonely cat owners when they die?

God forbid, if the mauling victim had died would the charges against the dog owner have been upgraded?
